Operation
Two-stage protection is utilised, providing high energy
handling and low let-through. In an overvoltage
situation, the first stage, consisting of gas-filled
arresters, absorbs the majority of the surge energy. The
second stage, containing Novariss proprietry clamping
network, reduces the let-through voltage to the safest
possible level. All circuit elements return automatically
to their normal state after the disturbance has passed.
