How to setup Material grid Dimension value conversion in SAP AFS
Introduction: In apparel and footwear industry size charts are different depend on the region. Shown
below is an example shoe size chart. In US size 5 is same as 381/2 in Europe.

Master Grid dimension conversion is used to convert sizes/ colures accordingly in SAP AFS system. This
document explain how to configure and use grid dimention functionality in SAP AFS.

Procedure:

Step 1: IMG: Define conversion Type

IMG -> Logistics - General -> AFS Material Grids -> Conversion -> Define Conversion Types

to create a new entry. Add conversion type, Text as required and click save.

Transport will be created for the custamisation change.

Step 2: IMG: Control Conversion Type Determination

Step 2.a Define Conversion Indicators

Make sure following entry is maintaines.
ID Type: M- to represent Material ID, Conversion ID- Blank to represent all materals

Step 2.b Assign Conversion Types

Click
to assign a new conversion type. Maintain following entry. Select the Conversion
Type creted in step1 EU as the CoType.

Step 3: Characteristics - Conversion Definition

Select the already existing characteristic need to add the conversition and open it in change mode.

type created in step1 in Conversion type field. Once you completed all entried click

Update Check if conversion desired indicator as below for the Shoe size characteristic and save the
changes in the grid.

Step 5: Create AFS material

(General) -> Immediately

Create a new AFS material. In this exercise I create a new finish good material: ABC_SHOE_01
AFS Basic Data Tab : Use the grid updated in previous step as shown below.

Step 6.a Check the conversion in material master

Go to the AFS additiona EAN area of the material master. By default system will display US sizes as 6,
7, ect as below.

and select the new Conversion Type. System will automatically display
europien sizes as below.

Step 6.b Check the conversion in Purchase Order Create

Maintain the purchase order with the material used in the above steps.
In the purchase order Item level add multiple schedule lines with grid values. By default system will
display US sizes as 6, 7, ect.

Once Click on

and selected the Europien size chart system convert purchase order

Step 6.c Check the conversion in Sales order Create

To convert sizes to diffent size scale click on the button

in the top toolbar. Once
document conversion type : Europien is selected system will automatically convert sizes to european
size scale as below.
