Abstract: In this paper a new model for management of cooperation systems is presented. In fact, this method
offers a way for modifying the partners' shares and responsibilities. Due to it, the concept of geometric balance is
used. For modification of partners' expectation-share relationship, 3 steps are introduced. Also, triangles as the
basic geometric tools are used for indicating the amount of partners' responsibilities and shares. Finally, some use
cases for proposed method are nominated.
Keywords: Geometric balance, management model, cooperation system.

INTRODUCTION

A new model for cooperation management is presented in this study. Base of the work is a geometric concept. In fact,
geometric balance is used to achieve a model for management of cooperation systems.
Story of geometric balance model began from when we decide to start a corporation with unlimited economic growth
potential. At the initial state, longevity of corporation was the main concern. Because, exclusivist partners might
expose the system to failure for their monopolization. They begin to monopoly in order to put the other partners out of
the field. Consequence of their monopolization will be decay of cooperation. A good solution for this problem is
offering suitable responsibilities and shares. It causes no one put a burden on others and no one abuse the share.
Convergence of cooperation is another result, too. For example, it can be referred to old story of old woman and the
animals. Old woman harbor the shelter-less animals and the animals compensate it with different services. In this way,
they could achieve permanent residence permit.
We believe the cooperation model of corporation can be similar to old woman's performance. In this way, longevity of
corporation will be much longer. So, considering the abilities and demands of partners is very important. To achieve
our goal that is a corporation consisting of 4 partners, understanding the partners' expectation is the first step.

METHODOLOGY

Robert Lawlor points to story of Plato and illiterate person. Plato wants him to double the area of a square, and he
does. Illiterate person's geometric intelligence causes him to be successful in solving this problem [1].
As a test, we drew some pairs of triangles surrounded by squares. Figure 1 shows the triangles. The area of each
triangle pairs has 1% difference. According to it, we created a questionnaire and collected the results. Almost, all
tested people could diagnose the bigger triangles.

According to this concept, two illustrative questionnaires were designed. One of them asked about the amount of
responsibilities of partners and the other asked about the amount of shares. Questionnaires were sent to partners within
2-3 days and results were collected. In answers sheet, triangles growth has an irregular level, and they weren't exactly
similar. Figure 2 shows a sample of questionnaire.

Figure 2. A sample of questionnaire that is created for asking about amount of responsibilities and shares.

Results of collecting these questionnaires were 8 triangles that they were average of whole questionnaire. Figure 3
shows the results.

Now, we need to have a balance between responsibilities and the shares. So, we put both of triangles of each person
adapted to each other. Subtraction of heights is called expectation-share relationship. This difference between the
heights is forked from people's unconscious sense. For example, it is shown for person B in figure 4.

Figure 4. Balance and expectation-share relationship for person B

Positive point for our plan was shortness of expectation-share relationship. It is strongly recommended to revise or
avoid of the cooperation with partners that has a long expectation-share relationship.
An average triangle that is the balanced of pair of triangles is considered, too. This balanced triangle is a good metric
for evaluation of persons' role in cooperation system. Now on, we use the balanced triangle for achieving the goals.
As you know, each triangle includes a percent of surrounded square. Regarding this percent, a numerical value is
dedicated to them. Value depends to the height of triangle directly.
Now, the purpose is calculation of partners' shared regarding their responsibility. Due to it, we put the balanced
triangles on each other. Then, the summation of heights was calculated. As figure 5 shows, summation of heights is
107% of whole (7 extra percents).

Figure 5. Summation of triangle heights

A very important result is 7% extra intention of partners for starting supposed project. In other hands, if the partners
consider less that 100% of shares for themselves, it can be found that the project seems risky in their minds. Sum of
percents is an excellent metric for evaluating the partners' positive approach.

Now, we are faced with 7% extra request for shares. Modification of triangles heights is the solution of this problem.
In this way, extra percents will be divided into 4 partners' shares. Final consequence is achieving to balanced shares
according to partners' request and responsibility.
In order to achieve other details about cooperation system, following question is asked: How many positions are
there for placing the triangles in a square? Answer is 3. Look at figure 6. In this figure, biggest triangle is
considered as the base and other triangles positions are set regarding biggest one.

Figure 6. Different forms of placing 4 triangles in a square.

The best modified form of placement of triangles is when the biggest and smallest triangles are face of each other. So,
final shape will be like figure 7.

Figure 7. Placement of triangles in a square.

It is clear that this picture is very irregular. So, it can be somehow modified. For example, vertices positions can be
changed without changing the area of triangle.
If the vertex position is changed without changing the height of triangle, area will remain without change [2]. This is
subjected in figure 8.

Figure 8. Changing the vertex position without changing the area

It can be concluded that for two adjacent triangles, it is possible to find a similar vertex without changing the area.
In figure 7 there are two pairs of adjacent triangles that can be modified by similar vertices. Result is shown in figure
9.

Figure 9. Result of modification of triangles with similar vertices

Now, it can be asked:

Is it possible to have a similar vertex for 4 triangles?
Naturally, if both of vertices in figure 9 get connected and consider the middle of connection line as the similar vertex,
it will be the best justified position. Figure 10 shows the modified picture.

Figure 10. Modified triangles with single vertex

After modifying the proposed positions, sensible adjacency will be achieved. Getting to multi-adjacency needs the
tolerance of cooperation system. Because, modification causes changing the area of triangles and it might change the
shares and responsibilities of partners.
Also, it can be gained for other forms of adjacencies that are shown in figure 6.
As it is clear in the figure 9, there are two problematic areas in the picture. Empty area shows the subjects that all
partners get silent about them. Empty area causes abuses, wrong decisions, etc. Also, collision area is troublesome and
struggling. Naturally, different approaches of shared partners in collision area may cause struggle.
Modification with single vertex causes disappearing both of troublesome areas. Another benefit of modification is
justification of disciplinary on cooperation management. Because, the two faced triangles include exactly 50% of
square area. It means each partner can execute his opinion if he can get the acceptance of his adjacent partner. In other
hands, if one of partners begins to monopoly, others can stop him easily with their greater shares. This advantage
causes fast execution of clear beneficial decisions and preventing the unclear and troublesome decisions. It lets the
partners to have a mutual movement to improving the mutual agreement. This feature increases the cognition of
cooperation and decreases the possibility of break.
Other feature of modification is keeping the ranks of partners. Modification may cause changes in share percents, but
it will never change the rank of them. For example, biggest partner is always the biggest and smallest is always the
smallest.
III. CONCLUSION
This study introduced a new model for management of cooperation systems called "geometric balance". Geometric
balance can be summarized in 3 steps:
1. Measurement and ranking of partners' desires for shares and responsibilities
2. Creation of sensible adjacencies, regarding partners' rank.
3. Enforcing the system in order to achieving the long term balance.
Many use cases can be nominated for geometric balance. For example, it can be a good approach for solving problems
of shared oil fields between countries, or Caspian Sea legal regime, or political power-sharing.
