    Bearing fits can be classified as either push fits or interference fits. A push fit provides clearance between the bearing and the inner component, while an interference fit creates friction through minimal overlap.     4.6.1 Bearing fits.


    Roller bearings have two types of fits: Push fit & Interference fit
    Example 1
    Inner ring stationary/Outer ring rotating.
    If a bearing is used on a machine where the housing is rotating and the shaft
    is stationary, then the bearing fit will be, interference fit in the housing, and
    clearance fit on the shaft.

    Example 2
    Inner ring rotating /outer ring stationary.
    If a bearing is used on a machine where the shaft is rotating and the housing
    is stationary, then the bearing bit will be, interference fit on the shaft, and
    clearance fit in the housing.
