RURAL LIFE

In general, a rural area is a geographic area that is located

outside cities and towns. Typically rural areas have a low population density
and small settlements.
India is a country of villages and farmers where more than 6070%population lives in rural areas. Villages of India symbolise the spirit of a
country. In fact in India agriculture is the Backbone of Indian Economy,
Villages and farmers are the Backbone of India.
Indias main economy is agriculture. Indian economy is an agrobased economy. Agriculture is mainly seen in practice only in villages. Village
is the most integral part of our country. Since India is an agrarian economy,
their role cannot be ignored. We cant exist if villagers dont provide us with
food grains, vegetables, fruits.
India is well-known for its traditional and cultural values, which
can be seen more in villages. Village people have more unity, helping nature
and hard working nature. Villages are both weakness and strength of a
country. There are some positive points and negative points in support of this.

POSITIVE POINTS:
Villages are strength of India because we all know very well that India
is an Agricultural country.
Agriculture work totally depends on villages and villagers.
In villages we see purity which never find in city, like pollution less
areas, pure milk items, fresh vegetables and fruits etc..
Villagers are more powerful than citizens, they are more energetic than
citizens, they have more stamina than citizens.
They are not a slaves of machines compare to citizens
All our food items like rice, wheat, grains, corn, sugarcane etc.. come
from villages.

NEGATIVE POINTS:
Villages are weakness of India because it is one of the region of
backwardness of India.
In villages there is a lack of education, literacy, knowledge etc...

There is no facilities f some facilities like proper toilets, transportation,

proper roads, electricity, pure drinking water, banking, hospitals,
schools, colleges, police protection etc...
In villages we see that they marry their daughters in little age.
There are many children and it is region of our over population.
Besides all these weaknesses there are so many villages in our
India which set a worthy example for the whole country. Some of the
villages of this sort are
1. PUNSARI The village with Wi-Fi, CCTVs, Ac classrooms and more:
Punsari is located in GUJARAT. It has more facilities than metros.
2. HIWARE BAZAR The village of 60millionaires:
Hiware Bazar is located in MAHARASTRA. It is the richest village in
India. There is a record of 60millionaires in the village and barely any
poor.
3. DHARNAI First fully solar powered village:
Dharnai, is situated in BIHAR, beat 30years of darkness by developing its
own solar powered system for electricity.
4. CHAPPAR A village that distributes sweets when a girl is born:
Chappar ,a village in HARYANA, has a woman Sarpanch who made it her
lifes mission to change the attitude of the villagers towards women and
she succeeded. In this village every new born baby is welcomed into this
world happily.
5. POTHANIKKAD The village with 100% literacy rate:
Pothanikkad, a village in KERALA, was the first to achieve a 100%
literacy rate.
6. BALLIA The village that beat arsenic poisoning with an indigenous
method:
Ballia, village of UTTAR PRADESH. The water that villagers were
drinking contained arsenic, which causes serious skin problems and even

physical deformation. The villagers themselves found solution for this

problem instead of waiting for the government to act on it.
There are so many villages like Mawlynnong, korkebellur,
Bekkinakeri, Shani Shingnapur etc... which were equally developed
similar to that of cities.
But now-a-days villagers are tired of doing agriculture due to lack
of rains, increase in cost of pesticides, decrease in quality of manures and
pesticides, heavy losses etc..The villagers are now migrating from villages
to towns due to luxury life available in towns and cities. As a result the
people doing agricultural works are becoming less in number. Thereby the
production of all types food grains decreases and the people in towns and
cities have to starve on one day.
So the government should take measures to provide all necessary
facilities to the villagers so that there is no need for migration. The
government should develop each and every village providing facilities like
schools, colleges, hospitals, police stations etc..
When compared to urban life rural life is soo peaceful and it is a
tension free life. We can enjoy the beauty of nature, humanity of villagers,
hospitality of them and so many things. Characterised by cast, religion,
kinship, and social status, villages of every region differs from one
another. Therefore villages of India symbolise the spirit of our country.
