I lead a sustainability consulting practice that focuses on helping companies develop and implement strategic thinking
around environmental and CSR activities. FirstCarbon provides services that include developing sustainability metrics
for corporate activities and products, setting up data systems for benchmarking and measuring performance, LCAs,
GHG inventories, CSR strategies, energy audits, water audits, and waste minimization or zero waste programs. Our
practice focuses on both corporate functions as well as supply chain initiatives.
Key Results:
Design and development of the first SaaS application (Carbon Foodprint) for using sustainability metrics
to improve food service operations through continuous measurement of performance in energy, water,
waste, and carbon in food service cafes and supply chain operations. Deployed for the largest food
service provider in the world (Compass) across 10,000 cafes and hundreds of supply chain vendors in
the US and 15,000 cafes and thousands of suppliers across Europe and Asia.
Developed independent scoring program for CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project)
Developed services to improve reporting and scores for corporate participants in CDP Carbon, CDP
Water, DJSI, GRI, and EICC. Improved client scores to reach highest levels within CDP reporting
programs.

Designed, developed, and managed first US program for verifying use/non-use of ODCs (Ozone Depleting
Chemicals) in the supply chain of manufactured electronics products from foreign exporters for the purpose of
reporting directly to the Internal Revenue Service - saving clients >$500 million is federal excise taxes.
