HREE years ago, in September, tertiary

students and Sixth Formers across the
country were introduced to R.AGE, The
Stars youth pullout.
R.AGE is not just a publication. Its tagline
R.AGE is a state of mind. YOURS. articulates
The Stars quest to engage young people in a
variety of ways from its online presence at
www.rage.com.my to the numerous ground
activities that have become a trademark of
R.AGE.
We started with the aim to provide a platform for youths from 18 to 23 those transitional years from adolescence to adulthood
to share their thoughts and trends, and to
capture the vibrancy and energy of that
generation.
R.AGE became college students faithful
companion; the 12-page pullout was distributed for free from Monday to Friday at selected colleges, universities and schools in
Peninsular Malaysia. The publication featured
a myriad of elements that would interest
young people from heart to hair, sex to soul,
fashion to food, and music to manic behaviours.
R.AGE was always intended to be a publication by young people for young people. One
of the highlights of R.AGE is the numerous
columns written and produced by youths
themselves. Among them are @ Campus,
where four pages a week were given to a
bunch of students from a particular educational institution to write about topics of their
choice; Stepping Out, a column dedicated to
students studying abroad to share their ideas;
and Rant & R.AGE, for youths to vent on issues
close to their heart.

As we say goodbye
to 2008, we also bid
farewell to Youth2.
But look out for R.AGE
beginning next Monday.

Goodbye ...
and Hello!

Participants of the R.AGE Multimedia Workshop 2008 checking out the

water level on a tripod. Such workshops are part of R.AGE activities.
All that reading and writing was not
enough for free-spirited energetic youngsters,
so R.AGE also organised various races to get
their adrenaline pumping.
Many youths may remember Spirit of KL,
Spirit of Malacca and Spirit of Penang back in
2006, which saw readers gathering by the
hundreds in search of what makes the respective cities tick.
A year later, students put their brains (and
brawn) to good use at Genting Highlands in
the money management race that was The
R.AGE My2Sen Worth. And this year, more
than 200 youths gathered in Ipoh and later, in
the quaint town of Papan, Perak, in the history-themed adventure The R.AGE Trailblazer.
Above all this, R.AGE prides itself for
providing the space and opportunity to young
people to express their thoughts and ideas.

R.AGE also dedicates time and effort to help

young people develop their skills through our
workshop series which include workshops on
multimedia, photography, personal grooming
and self-defence, among others.
Now, as we welcome a new year, R.AGE too
is ready to enter a new phase.
From next Monday, R.AGE will be available
to all youths teenagers, tertiary students
and young adults in StarTwo from Monday
to Friday.
As such, this is the last issue of Youth2.
Besides print, R.AGE will still be available
online (look out for a brand new look for the
website real soon!) and on the road via the
numerous events the R.AGE team has planned
for the year (stay tuned).
Please join R.AGE on this journey. See you
on Monday!
