Rationale
This symposium provides a platform for discussions on the
provisions of Republic Act 10606, otherwise known as the
Universal Health Care Law. Moreover, this will equip the
students and professional nurses with the necessary information
to guide them in the attainment of the health-related Millennium
Developmental Goals.

Objectives
At the end of this symposium, the participants must
be able to:
discuss the aims and strategic thrusts of Universal
Health Care;
recognize the value of the role of nurses as front liners
in the delivery of quality health care; and
determine the future direction of the implementation
of programs to address the health related Millennium
Development Goals.
