FABULA INFINITA

In the frame of the eTwinning project "TILMPE" (http://new-twinspace.etwinning.net/web/p97484) that
we are developing at my School we have outlined a new activity with Latin teachers Maro del Ro and
Santi Carbonell in the hope of including all European Secondary Schools that would like to join in : Fabula
Infinita which is a collaborative Tale in Latin.
The idea is simple: from the beginning with a very affordable Latin we want students from different
schools to continue the story connecting their part with the previous text.
Here are three stories or "threads" that we are launching:
1. Infinita fabula I: Pulchra puella quae dormit
2. Infinita fabula II: Mater capra et septem filii
3. Infinita fabula III: Familia Ursi ...et Iulia
These tales will be written in Google Docs so they can be shared. We briefly explain what the procedure will
be:
1. Latin teachers with their group of Latin students (preferably beginners) read the three "threads" with
their students and decide which of the three they prefer. Once selected the tale, the Latin teacher must
fill the appropriate form:

and give us his/her gmail account to share with him/her the document where the chosen thread is. In this
way, Latin teachers will be those who edit the part invented by their students.
2. Students continue the story for a week, adding a maximum of 5 lines. Latin teachers help students
with this text, taking into account that the story must be written in basic Latin. You can also add to your
part of the story Creative commons images and comments to clarify certain words. Each School will write
in a different color in the document.
3. Each week we will involve at least three European Schools. After this week you can not be republished
in your thread, but if you like the experience you can repeat with the other tales!
If you know other Latin teachers who want to participate, please spread this information.
If necessary, we will open other threads, depending on the volume of participants.

Iam Mater Capra est in villa cum septem filiis. Laeti in atrio ludunt. Oculis clausis unus filius
numerat: unus, duo, tres, quattuor, quinque, sex, septem, octo, novem...
Ceteri in variis locis se occultant: primus in cubiculo, secundus in tablino, tertius in culina...sed
ecce filius quintus in impluvio est.
Mater: Cur in aqua es, Quinte? Num calorem habes?
Filius Quintus: Mamma, me occulto!
Mater: Quid agis, Sexte, post horologium?
Filius Sextus: Ego quoque me occulto, mamma!
Subito lupus ostium pulsat...

Infinita Fabula III: Familia Ursi ...et Iulia

magna non est; in familia Ursi est tantum unus filius, Ursullus, et nullus servus.
Pater Ursus non multam, sed paucam pecuniam habet.
Ei habitant in pulchra et parva villa in media silva.
Mater Ursa: Sorbitio est adhuc calida. Necesse est per silvam
ambulare dum frigida fit.
Ursullus: Sed mamma, esurio!
Pater Ursus: Agite, eamus ad rivum et lapides in aquam iaciamus.

Iulia: Oh, quam pulchra villa est! et sorbitio optime olet!.
