Myself Sheerin Zadoo and I am the Program Chair for this session. Today,
I welcome the honorable Session Chairs and the participants to this session. Its a matter of
great pride and privilege that we have amongst us highly qualified and experienced guests, Dr.
Damon M. Chandler and Dr Doreswamy.
Dr. Damon M. Chandler received the B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns
Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, in 1998; and the M.Eng., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in
Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, New York, in 2000, 2003, and 2005,
respectively. From 2005-2006, Dr. Chandler was a postdoctoral research associate in the
Department of Psychology at Cornell.
He joined the faculty of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Oklahoma State
University in 2006. He received an Eta Kappa Nu ECE Outstanding Professor of the Year Award
in 2008. In 2009, he was a visiting assistant professor at the IRCCN lab, University of Nantes,
France. He received a Halliburton Foundation Excellent Young Teacher Award in 2010. He
received an NSF CAREER award in 2011. Dr. Chandler currently heads the Laboratory of
Computational Perception and Image Quality. His research focuses on studying and modeling
properties of the human visual system for image and video coding and analysis applications. He
is also a senior member of IEEE.

Before we start the first session , I would just brief you with the rules.
We will be having 8 paper presentations and each of you will be given 8mins for presentation +
2 mins for Question Session. After 8 mins there will be a single bell and after 2 more mins a
double bell which marks the end of the presentation.
I hope the Session will be a memorable one which will enhance our knowledge and will help us
to bond with highly knowledgeable and influential people from all over the globe.
