Introduction:

Islamic Relief is a UK based international organization seeking to promote sustainable economic and social
development by working with local communities through relief and development programs. It aims to help the
needy regardless of race, religion or gender. Islamic Relief has its Head Quarters in Birmingham, UK and offices in
over 33 countries across Europe, America, Asia and Africa. Islamic Relief has fund raising offices in most Western
European countries and the USA. Islamic Relief established its office in Pakistan in 1992 set up under a license from
corporate law authority under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall Supervision of the Financial Matters of Islamic Relief Bangladesh.


• Provide Quick books / Budget Format orientation to Finance Staff.
• Ensure timely reports to Donors, HQ and Local Management.
• Ensure Completion of the Statutory Audit, according to NGO Bureau Rules.
• Coordinate with Program / Project Managers to Prepare and Finalize the Budgets for 2008.
• Modification in Finance Staff Structure

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of financial statements and related working papers (Final Accounts).


• Responsible to plan for external audits and to deal with External Auditors during the conduction of statutory Financial Audit and
project audits.
• Prepare / consolidate response to the management letter.
• Analyze financial reports on monthly/ quarterly basis prepared by Finance Officers before submitting to external donors like
DFID, ECHO, DipECHO EC, PPAF and higher management.
• Attend budget preparation meeting and give technical assistance to Admin/ Programs Units in translating their requirements to
financial terms on specified formats (Islamic Relief / External Donors).
• Prepare funds request for donors / Head quarter for different projects.
• Visit to area offices to ensure the application of financial procedures, guidelines forwarded to them.

• Submission of forms to Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan and Withholding Tax Returns to Income Tax
department, and also deal with the matters of EOBI .
• Analyze reports (expenditures) received from Area Office.
• Represent finance in different forms and committees.
