MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 06-2014

APPROVING THE REQUEST OF BARANGAY MINTO TO ALLOW THE CAMALIG WATER
DISTRICT OF CAMALIG, ALBAY TO ENTER AND EXTEND ITS SERVICES IN THEIR
BARANGAY AS EMBODIED UNDER RESOLUTION NO. 2013-02 FINDING IT MERITORIOUS
AND BENEFICIAL TO THE CONSTITUENTS OF BARANGAY MINTO.

WHEREAS,

as water is one of the immediate and basic necessities/needs of human beings

and the community in general, if not the most basic one, it is the duty of every local
government to provide for potable and sufficient water supply through its reliable
and trustworthy water districts;

WHEREAS,

Barangay Minto is so located in an area distant from the water sources of the
municipality, hence, the resident-consumers therein are experiencing
scarcity/inadequacy of water supply. To resolve this predicament, the Barangay
Council of Minto enacted Resolution No. 2013-02, requesting permission from this
august body to allow the Camalig Water District to enter and extend its services to
them;

WHEREAS,

the appropriate SB Committee duly considered the same and found their request
to be meritorious considering that this would provide a definitive solution to the
issue at hand and ultimately would be beneficial to the constituents therein;

WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:

RESOLVED,

as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay in

session assembled, to Approve as it hereby Approves the Request of Barangay
Minto to Allow the Camalig Water District of Camalig, Albay, to Enter and Extend
its Services in their Barangay as embodied under their Resolution No. 02-2013,
Finding it Meritorious and Beneficial to the Constituents of Barangay Minto.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that Barangay Minto, the Municipal Government of Guinobatan and the
Camalig Water District, duly represented, shall enter into a Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA) which shall embody the details/specifics of their agreement and
express the fact that the same is mutually beneficial and agreeable between and
among the parties.
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that said MOA shall contain a contingency provision on the rules
that shall govern if, subsequently, the Guinobatan Waterworks System Office shall
be capable of providing sustainable and adequate water supply in Barangay
Minto.
RESOLVED LASTLY, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Barangay Council of Minto, the
Camalig Water District and the Guinobatan Waterworks System Office, and such
other concerned offices or agencies, for their information and appropriate action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY, on motion of Honorable Councilor FJ M. Oxales and duly seconded
by the members present this 27 th day of January, 2014 during their 4 th Regular
Session.
