Grant, Ulysses Simpson. The Complete Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant.

Grant describes in detail of his experiences during the Mexican War and the Civil War.
This memoir showed us what he felt from his childhood to his death. He talked about the
conditions he was in during the Civil War from the viewpoint of a general.

This was the only interview available of Hannah S. Grant. Hannah Grant talks about her
children, mainly U.S. Grant. She talked about Ulyssess childhood and his love for horses
starting from a young age.

Dodge describes his experiences working with Grant during the Civil War. Dodge
describes the times when they discussed plans and strategies that would best benefit the
Union. After the war, they kept in contact and would frequently visit each other. Grant
visited by Dodge in 1855 when he was almost complete with his memoirs.

Jesse Grant discusses the childhood of Ulysses Grant. It depicts the early working of
Grant when he would work at his fathers farm. This was where he developed an inner
love for caring and riding horses that would later benefit him during the American Civil
War.

Julia Dent Grant was the wife of Ulysses S. Grant and she talked about how Grant was
when he was away from war. This interview gave us insight to how Grant dealt with the
wars he fought in.

This amendment was created when Grant wanted to prevented the discrimination of
African-Americans right to vote. This amendment prevented the KKK group from
terrorizing the Africans. It showed us that Grant wanted equality between all the
people.

Grant describes the conditions of the war and their most recent attack. Grant also talks
about getting home to his family.

Grant strictly commands Hurlbut to move his troops to Memphis. This letter shows how
Grant was able to lead his army to victory. The letter also shows us the strategic thinking
Grant.

Lincoln asks Grant for help as he and Grant were friends. Lincoln wishes for his son to
join the ranks of the army without much trouble during the Civil War. This letter showed
us that Grant was not only a good general, but also someone you could depend on.

Stevens expressed his political and military opinions of the Civil War based on the

conditions that he was in. He mentions the Robert E, Lee surrender at Appomattox Court
House.

This article showed how it was to work with Grant in the eyes of Captain John Barr. It
gave information on how Grant prepared for the battles. It also showed the behavior of
Grant during the war.

Article that showed Grant from his childhood to his times of the war. This article showed
illustrations of the events that took place. Gave an in depth details from the eyes of
someone that was not him.

Article talked in depth about the events that took place during the Siege of Vicksburg. It
painted a vivid image in our heads of the events that unfolded on that day. Detailed
explanations allowed us to see what happened during the siege.

The newspaper article gave us an inside view of what occurred during the Civil War, This
article was a brief overview to the events of the Siege of Vicksburg.
