In His Hands!
I know I am in His hands and
nothing that touches me can
catch my Lord by surprise.

But for you who fear my name the Sun

of righteousness arises with healing in his
wings; and you shall spring forth like
calves from the stall.

Peace in South

God equips board/staff

My health

That our students

grow in the
knowledge of His will
for their lives

It seems I have hit a bit of a

bump in the road that is going
to give me the opportunity to
see how much I depend on God
Almighty, especially in the
hardest times.

I met with my Advisory Board

and staff before I left to equip
them to keep the ministry
programs alive and thriving.
They have ALL really stepped
up to take ownership of WoH.

I found the lump several

months ago and I came to the
USA as early as possible for
testing. It has recently been
confirmed by biopsy that I have
infiltrative lobular carcinoma of
the left breast.
I will spend the next 6-12
months stateside with doctors
helping to direct surgeries,
radiation and hormone
therapy. The medical communitys prognosis is assuring
but my Gods prognosis is
uplifting! It is well with my soul!
With the exception of a few
short moments, I have rested
in His love and mercy.

HOW TO HELP!
I am stateside and my home
is in South Sudan, this puts
extra burden on the ministry.
I hired additional staff in
South Sudan while I maintain
myself in Spokane. I rented a
small, furnished apartment
for $495 + electric. The VA
will transport me for my
appointments and pay for my
medical care.

Increase monthly
giving to help run
projects at WoH in South
Sudan.

Donate to WoH for my

support! While in treatment I will have many
needs that are not covered
by my $600 monthly salary.

Pray for the staff and

board of WoH to make
wise and God-directed
decisions.

Pray for my healing, quick

recovery and that I bring
glory to His name!

Sister Rose visits WoH

God gave me two separate

dreams, on 10/24 & 10/25.
The first was about mature fruit
from an avocado tree I planted
on WoH compound and in the
other, I defeated the serpent
with His help after a long,
difficult battle.
God is with me every step of
the way on this road.

Blessed with Visitors!

God has begun answering my prayer for friends and visitors to come to Wings of Healing!

Continued seeking
God and growth in our
hearts for the things
of God in 2015!

Andrew and Terry Banman of Children Arise, brought a team to Kajo

-Keji in October. We had the honor of hosting them while they were
working with a nearby, very rural
community. In November, Andrew
returned to WoH to shoot a video
of our everyday activities. You can
view them on Vimeo-search for
Wings of Healing channel. They
will be returning in January.
After they left, Pastor Karen Grubbs, a Foursquare youth pastor, came
to visit for almost 2 weeks. She is exploring more frequent trips to
Kajo-Keji to train youth workers. I am so blessed to have Gods
beloved come and stay!

Food Distribution
Shortly after civil war erupted a
year ago, Denise Carlson (now
with Missions 1040 in N.
Uganda) introduced WoH to
Kristy Scott of World Emergency Relief (WER) to apply to
receive and distribute relief
food.
After much prayer, correspondence and effort raising funds,
the container of dried protein
rich soup mixes arrived at WoH
on October 8th.

We had lots of rain and the

truck got stuck before unloading. This did not stop us. We
dropped the container by tying
it to a tree and pulling it off the
truck, drove the truck out of
the mud then loaded the 300+
pound barrels back into the
container.

Before I left to come stateside,

we distributed to lepers with
dependent children and to our
local orphanage. Both of these
groups were extremely grateful
and humbled.

St Barts Orphanage is thankful!

We will continue to distribute

the rest of the shipment to the
most vulnerable and needy in
the county.

traveled the world

The Kajo-Keji Commissioner,

Department of Social Development and Social Welfare have
been helping us identify the
needy in the county and
coordinate distribution.

There is a very large population

of elderly vulnerable, disabled,
and raising orphaned children
along with HIV/AIDS families
that often dont get help.

We are just ending the rainy

season and entering the dry
season. People are harvesting
and drying crops to prepare for
this time of food insecurity.
Thanks to our donors who
helped WoH purchase and keep
the 40 foot food container!

things with great love

Updates!!

A GREAT 2-month checkup

after Spina Bifida surgery.
Wani James colon cancer
successfully resected in Kampala in October.

Successful osteomyelitis surgery

9-year-old Florence had a good
checkup last month. Only one
more surgery in April 2015.

They had surgery in Mbale,

Uganda just two weeks ago!

Seven-year-old girls eye

tumor has been growing for
about four years. A clinic that
we work with asked us to help
her get surgery. In October,
we sent her to Kampala for
initial tests and hope to take
her back in January.

Young Mother Going Blind Will Have Surgery!

Kenneth Godi with wife Poni and their kids

Poni Sylvia is working out all the

details of caregivers for her 4
children while traveling to Uganda
for brain surgery.

Young Solomon will be 1-year-old soon

and on solid food so that she can leave
him for the time needed to be treated
and recover.

Pray for her and Kenneth. He was

taken for an appendectomy in late
October and is managing but healing
is slow. Her surgery has many more
risks than if done in the US.

We thank God for a donor that has

stepped forward to help this family and
others with a donation for medical
care.

Thoughts about 2014

Wings of Healing-South Sudan
Helping Build a New Nation

What an amazing year it has been. God has really been with WoH during all the
ups and downs of this year. We finished the staff/team dorm and it is being
used to host teams and visitors. I have a roof on my house! We have grown our
relationships with local government started new programs...but most of all we
are growing in Him! Praise Almighty God!

While lots of times it looked bleak...young children dyingneeds we werent

sure we could meet...attacks against our school kids ...He always came
through. I am practicing a deeper faith that only continued trusting brings.
Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be
added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for
itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own Matt 6:33-34

His promises are true. He said, in Mark 10:29-30, that those who leave all
behind will receive 100-fold in return, along with persecutions. He is blessing me in so many ways...peace during the storm...faith that withstands
shaking...deep relationships with people He has put in place.

3.

In the middle of the trial, do you rejoice and praise Him? Are you considering that He has everything under control and that there may be a lesson to
learn for the next trial? Is it time to start living in complete faith in even the
hard times? Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various
trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let
endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete
lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

Looking Forward...
A year of promise! It seems this is
always the word for the new year but
with God this is always true!
I want to believe it will be a year of
amazing surprise!
I want Him to surprise me with the
depth of His love and mercy that
produces peace and drives out fear!
I look forward to how He will advance
the ministry of WoH as we advance in
our faith and trust in Him.
It IS like exercising a muscle.
The more you use it the stronger it
gets. Difficulties come but instead of
complaining you praise Him. Soon this
is the first position you take in trials
a joyful one. It changes everything.
My resolution is to live by Gods
standards:Do all things without
grumbling or disputing, so that you
will prove yourself to be blameless
and innocent, children of God above
reproach in the midst of a crocked and
perverse generation among whom you
appear lights in the world, holding fast
the word of life, so that in the day of
Christ I will have reason to glory
because I did not run in vain or toil in
vain. Phillipians 2:14-16

Goals for 2015

1. Mold, stack and fire 20,000 bricks
for building the garage and dining/teaching
hall. Our teak pole garage has been
weakened by termites after 2 1/2 years.
Time for brick and mahogany; no termites!
We are planning a 20x30 foot dining hall to
also be used for teaching, Bible studies and
conferences. In January/February, Johnson
will be at who, with Monday, supervising
brick-making and finishing kitchen and
dorm cabinets.
2. Community Health Evangelism
Trainers I course in Uganda in February
for 8 participants from Kajo-Keji to be our
training team. The Banmans are helping
coordinate this.
3. The 40-foot container: move into
place, put on blocks, build a ramp and put
a roof on top. This will give us much needed
storage space. Then between the garage
and container we are building a covered
welcome area with benches.

Spread the fame of Jesus!

Be more like Him!
...as we serve needy, vulnerable and broken
people.

Amanda
