PT Ispad Indo was established in Indonesia in 1976 by Laskmi Mittal. The company was set up
as a 60,000 tpa, for rolling. Today, Ispad Indo has an annual production capacity excess of 700,000

Informasi yang kami kumpulkan dari beberapa pabrikan penerima besi tua, ditemukan beberapa klasifikasi
besi tua dan harga yang berbeda, yang disesuaikan dengan kapasitas dapur peleburan, letak / lokasi
pabrikan serta penilaian di internal pabrikan. Semoga member scrap kami lebih dapat mengerti dan
mengenal kategori-kategori yang berlaku di pasaran besi tua saat ini.
Di Indonesia ada pengelompokan dan penamaan sendiri yang sudah dikenal luas oleh masyarakat, kelas
atau kelompok itu diantaranya :

Besitua Kelas A
Besi tua yang ada di kelompok ini memiliki tebal minimal 6 mm dan jenis barangnya atara lain :
Besi IWF/H-Beam, pipa, besi beton, plate, rail kereta, besi sisa fabrikasi, blok mesin, rantai kapal, besi
as, roda kereta api, plate kapal.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran antara 50 - 180 cm.
Kondisi barang tidak terlalu banyak karat atau lapisan cat / chrome.

Besitua Kelas B

Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran antara 50 - 180 cm.
Kondisi barang tidak terlalu banyak karat atau lapisan cat / chrome.

Besitua Kelas C
Besi tua yang ada di kelompok ini memiliki tebal minimal 2 - 3 mm dan jenis barangnya atara
lain : Kawat seling, seng pabrik, paku, plat body mobil bekas, drum oli.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran antara 50 - 180 cm.
Kondisi barang tidak terlalu banyak karat atau lapisan cat / chrome.

Besitua Kelas D
Besitua yang ada di kelompok ini memiliki tebal minimal 1 - 2 mm dan jenis barangnya atara
lain : sisa serutan/bubutan, kaleng susu, seng berkarat, kawat halus, velg sepeda.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran antara 50 - 180 cm.
Kondisi barang tidak terlalu banyak karat atau lapisan cat / chrome.

Klasifikasi yang diterima oleh pabrikan dengan tungku peleburan


medium atau kecil
Besitua Kelas K
Merupakan Besi tua yang dinilai sebagai kelas khusus, terdiri dari scrap besi padat ataupun solid,
memiliki ketebalan 5 mm ke atas. Jenis Barang Besi profile IWF/H-Beam, U-channel, Siku, besi
beton, plate, rail kereta, besi sisa fabrikasi, besi as, roda kereta api, plate kapal.
Khusus dalam hal ini adalah semua barang adalah sama ( satu jenis ). Dan hanya terdapat kotoran
selain zat besi sedikit sekali, 0,5%. Sehingga memudahkan proses peleburan di pabrik.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran maksimal 1000 mm.

Besitua Kelas A1
Merupakan Besi tua yang mempunyai tebal 5 mm keatas yang di campur-campur bentuk nya dan
mempunyai zat non besi ( cat, kroom, dll ) sebesar dibawah 1 %.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran maksimal 1000 mm.

Besitua Kelas A2
Merupakan besi tua dan dikatakan kelas A2 jika dalam satu muatan besi terdapat besi padat yang
kurang dari 5 mm dan kotoran zat non besi berkisar antara 1% - 2%.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran maksimal 1000 mm.

Besitua Kelas A3
Merupakan besi tua dan dikatakan kelas kelas A3 juga merupakan besi padat yang berkisar antara
3 5 mm, disini dikatakan A3 karena zat karat yang terlihat banyak sekitar 20 persen dari permukaan
besi tua dan biasanya masih terdapat kotoran yang cukup signifikan terlihat dengan mata.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran maksimal 1000 mm.

Besitua Kelas B1

B1: sering di sebut dengan kabin super merupakan besi tipis antara 2 3 mm dan mengadung
unsur non besi sekitar 1%.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran maksimal 1000 mm. Dan kondisi tidak
dalam press lebih baik.

B2: kelas ini diklasifikasikan sebagai besi tipis yang mempunyai ukuran antara 1 2 mm jika
terdapat lapisan cat di permukaannya dan zat karat yang bekisar 2%.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran maksimal 1000 mm. Dan kondisi tidak
dalam press lebih baik.
Beberapa contoh besi tua kelas B2 bisa dilihat ditabel bawah ini :

Besitua Kelas B3
B3 : kelas B3 merupakan besi tipis yang berukuran kurang lebih sama dengan B2 namun pada
kelas ini besi tipis tersebut banyak mengandung zat karbon seperti per ( Spring bet ), dan seng pabrik
yang berukuran lebar, atau memiliki kotoran yang berkisar 3%, kawat.
Dan biasanya pihak pabrik akan menerima dalam ukuran maksimal 1000 mm. Dan kondisi dalam
press lebih baik dan tidak terlalu banyak kotoran non logam yang melekat.

Besitua Kelas GR-1


GR-1 : gram atau sisa bubut yang masuk GR1 merupakan gram yang masih kasar dan agak
panjang / berbeda dengan kondisi gram GR-2 dan memiliki karat dipermukaan < 20 %.
Press maupun curah tetap diterima dengan klasifikasi GR-1.

Besitua Kelas GR-2


GR-2: gr2 adalah sisa bubutan yang berbentuk halus atau seperti pasir ataupun dapat dikatakan
sisa serutan ataupun bubutan berbentuk pecahan dan tidak sama dengan keterangan GR-1.
Pabrik menerima dalam kondisi barang yang di packing dengan karung dan biasanya sewaktu
bongkar di pabrik penerima akan di periksa ulang oleh checker untuk mengetahui isi barang.

Besitua Kelas KL
KL: adalah kelas kaleng di katakan kelas kaleng karena pada semua bagian permukaan masih
menempel seperti cat, krom, kertas, dan cat, dll.
Curah dan press diterima oleh pabrikan, tetapi checker akan memeriksa ulang kondisi kaleng

tersebut.
Beberapa contoh besi tua kelas KL bisa dilihat ditabel bawah ini :

Kemudian apa yang dimaksud dengan Bonus +300/kg


Bonus maksimal 300 adalah jika dalam suatu kelas terdapat gabungan dari dua kelas yang berbeda namun
dikirim atau dimuat dalam 1 kubukasi
Contoh :
o Dalam 1 truk berisi 10 ton besi tipis yang masuk kategori B dalam keadaan di press.
Terdapat :
30% kelas B1
o 60% kelas B2
o 10% kelas B3
Maka penilaian yang diberikan adalah : B2 + 100
Penilaian ini sama seperti penilaian besi kelas A
Jika ingin mendapat penilaian maksimal dari kelas B biasanya dengan cara tidak di press atau di
padatkan, karena asumsi pabrik adalah dalam suatu kubikasi press pasti terdapat kotoran di dalam nya.
Dalam 1 truk berisi 10 ton kaleng jika dalam keadaan di press atau berbentuk kubik yang sudah
dipadatkan dan jika terlihat bersih ( kotoran < 2% ) maka harga yang di berikan mungkin : KL + 200
Jika kaleng tersebut tidak dalam kondisi di press dan bersih kotoran < 1% mungkin akan mendapat
nilai maksimal KL + 300
Dari pengalaman, yang ada kaleng / besi tipis press di pabik tidak pernah mendapat nilai plus yang
maksimal.
Segala informasi yang diberikan adalah berdasarkan pengalaman dilapangan yang terjadi, maka informasi
ini tidaklah pasti karena banyak faktor diluar perkiraan yang mungkin belum kami ketahui.

Pengelompokan besitua diluar negeri : Mengacu ke Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI)

A. RONGSOKAN BESI & BAJA


1. Sheet Iron Scrap (Sheet Tin)
Sheet Iron (Sheet Tin) shall consist of miscellaneous iron & steel
and may contain galvanized sheet, painted & coated materials,
whole machinery & equipment containing other metals provided
Iron is the main content.

2. White Goods
Major household appliances including stoves, fridges, freezers,
clothes washers, dryers & dish washers.

3. Mixed Steel Can Scrap


Flattened or whole steel cans.
This material is typically generated from food cans from municipal
recycling programs. May contain Bi-Metal (aluminum/steel)
beverage cans.
CAUTION May not contain aerosol cans.

4. Bundled Steel Can Scrap


Bundled Steel Can Scrap shall consist of compressed assorted
flattened or whole steel cans with a minimum weight density of 75
lb./cubic foot.
This material is typically generated from food cans from municipal
recycling programs. May contain Bi-Metal (aluminum/steel)
beverage cans.
CAUTION May not contain aerosol cans.

5. E.C. Briquettes
E.C. Briquettes shall contain compressed oil filters and shall have a
minimum weight density of 75 lb./cubic foot.

6. Mixed Scrap Iron & Steel


Assorted iron & steel scrap up to any maximum size, must be free of
white goods & light gauge materials under 1/8" in thickness

7. No.1 HMS
No.1 HMS shall consist of clean iron & steel with a minimum
thickness of 1/4", and a maximum size of 60"x24", material
handling compatible to feed a furnace charge box.
This grade may include ISRI code 200.

8. No.1 HMS (2 foot)


No.1 HMS (2 foot) shall consist of clean iron & steel with a
minimum thickness of 1/4", and a maximum size of 24"x18",
material handling compatible to feed a furnace charge box.
This grade may include ISRI code 201.

9. Special Plate Punchings


Special Plate Punchings shall include clean, dry, uniform plate
punchings suitable for ballast material or high density furnaces
charging.
Material must be free flowing and no piece shall be larger than 2" in
any direction and a minimum of 1/4" in any direction. May be any
shape provided that there are no protruding edges.

10. No.3 Steel (Unprepared Bushling)


No.3 Steel (Unprepared Bushling) shall consist of clean, uncoated
steel clippings, stappings & sheet skeletons under 1/8" thick..

11. No.4 Steel (Silicon Bushling)


No.4 Steel (Silicon Bushling) shall consist of clean silicon bearing
steel scrap with a maximum thickness of 1/8"

12. No.4 Shredded Steel


No.4 Shredded Steel shall consist of course shredded steel scrap.

13. Mixed Cast Iron


Mixed Cast Iron shall consist of assorted iron castings

14. Sorted Machine Cast


Sorted Machine Cast shall consist of sorted broken or unbroken cast
iron machinery scrap, not to exceed 18"x18".

15. Sorted Automotive Cast


Sorted Automotive Cast shall consist of sorted broken or unbroken
cast iron automotive scrap, not to exceed 18"x18".

16. Unclean Motor Block


Whole or part cast iron auto or truck engines. Transmissions may or
may not be attached.

17. Clean Motor Block


Clean Motor Block shall consist of stripped cast iron motor blocks,
free of oil pan, pistons, and all foreign attachments.

18. Whole Prepared Car Bodies


Unflattened car bodies, with tires, radiator and battery removed, gas
tanks acceptable but must be removed and punctured, (no propane
tanks allowed). Engine and transmission may or may not be
included.

19. Flattened Car Bodies


Flattened Car Bodies shall consist of prepared car bodies that have
been flattened & stacked for transportation as auto shredder
feedstock.
Tires, radiator and battery removed, gas tanks acceptable but must
be removed and punctured, (no propane tanks allowed). Engine and
transmission must be removed.

20. Green Car Bodies


Green Car Bodies shall consist of stripped car hulks that have
dismantled through a "Green" Auto Recycling System.
The "Green" Car Body shall have most of the manually strippable
non-metallic parts removed, including, windows, seats, interior &
trunk carpet, head & tail lights, external non-metal body parts,
internal dash parts. Fluids reduced or removed.
(a shredder fluff reduced feedstock).

22. Mixed Turnings & Borings


Mixed Turnings & Borings shall consist of assorted cast iron or steel
turnings, borings or grindings.

23. Short Shoveling Borings


Short Shoveling Borings and Turnings shall consist of clean free
flowing cast iron borings or steel turnings.
Must be free of fluffy, tangled, springy turnings and free of lumps or
clumps.

May include tie plates, spikes, joints, must be free of manganese
materials.
