Situational Analysis

People nowadays easily assume things as if theyll be able to


overcome situations at all times. They tend to have an established set
of opinions over a given issue especially when it comes to disasters
and calamities. This kind of thinking, attitude or what we so called
mindset leads to the lack of awareness and preparation to such
calamities. All of these result to the unfortunate end product of disaster
such as destruction and even worstdeath, which could have been
prevented if only people were prepared.

Statement of the Problem

Mindset
Most Filipinos tend to underestimate things and instill to their
mind that they can easily overcome any situation particularly a
disaster or calamity. They always have a shallow expectation or
mindset to what a catastrophe might cause them.

Lack of Awareness
Because of the kind of attitude Filipino have, they do not pay
much attention to programs, campaigns or other reminders
about disaster preparation and therefore they lack awareness
about these issues.

Lack of Preparedness
Being unaware leaves them unprepared. They disregard essential
information that could have helped them to survive a calamity.
They end up caught off guard when the disaster arises. Because
they are unprepared, they have no knowledge of what they
should do. Thus, it causes them more danger that could have
been avoided or at least mitigated.

Strength:

Greater chance of survival


Minimal damage on properties and environment
Rational decision-making due to preparedness

Weakness:

Not all preparations are applicable on the given


situation
Not all disasters can be forecasted
Constant need of improving preparations

An acquirable trait towards other situations


Develops individual awareness and concern about the
environment

Threat:

Concept is grasped but the execution is a little elusive


Different type of preparations could confuse people or
mislead their thoughts especially during the disaster

To build awareness and preparedness about disasters
To change the citizens perception about disaster preparedness
To establish a proactive behavior among citizens
To get across the idea of a unique and effective disaster preparedness
campaign that would awaken their insensible mentality and would arouse
their habitual practice about the issue
To inform, influence and to fully make people understand the importance
of being aware and prepared before, during, and even after any
catastrophe, thus making them ready all the time

Urban Area
Male and Female

Big Idea:
Disregarding Disaster, Destroys.

Overall Strategy:
The use of 3D movie concept would give them a whole new perspective about
disaster preparedness

People in this generation would rather watch a movie than participate to a


disaster drill, which is why we came up with a concept that would grab
their interest and make them visualize the real essence of a disaster
vigilance thus making the campaign more effective and relatable to the
modern civilization.

ABOUT THE 3D

Develop
This campaign aims to change and develop peoples mindset about Disaster
Preparedness that would capture to widen and deepen their consciousness
about this lifes and death situational matter.

Discipline
It aims to discipline people, practice a stable awareness and preparedness
towards the issue and maintain this kind of thinking at all times.

Deliver
It aims to deliver and transmit this mindset into equitable actions that would
prevent the hideous effect of the disasters.
