Reflections of a Blessed
Life

Melvin D. Malcom was born October 7, 1934 to the late


Rev. John E. Malcom and Tatesis Ree Browning in Walton
County, Monroe, Georgia. He was the third of nine children.
Melvin was called home to eternal rest on January 5, 2015.
Melvin accepted Christ and joined Hillsboro Baptist Church
of High Showes, Georgia at an early age.
Melvin relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in the early 1950's. He
was a brick mason by trade. He loved fishing and gardening,
which he did until his health began to fail him. He also
loved the Atlanta Braves Baseball team, be it watching or
listening to them play, was truly a great pass time for him.
Melvin always referred to his male friends as PARTNER.
If you were a friend of his he considered you his
PARTNER.
He was united in matrimony to Hattie Merl Capell on
December 7, 1996 in Cincinnati, Ohio. This loving union
lasted 18 beautiful years.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. John E.
Malcom and Tatesie Ree Malcom; brothers, Roger, Kasie
and Grady Malcom.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife, Hattie Merl
Malcom; daughters, Deborah Malcom of Atlanta, GA,
Leslie (Charles) Reynolds of Richmond, KY; stepsons,
Derrick and Ron Comer of Patriot, IN, eight grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Lottie Ross and Dezzer
Ree Barker of Lawrenceville, GA, Claudia (Willie) Wilburn
of Winder, GA, Deloris (Eddie G.) Snow of Dacula, GA;

brother, Erette Malcom of Newburn County, GA; sisters-inlaw, Lonia Mae Malcom, Jennie Davis of Cincinnati, OH;
brothers-in-law, Tellis Capell of San Diego, CA, Douglas
(Jernice) Capel, Thomas Capel of Cincinnati, OH and a host
of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
