Day 1
Objectives:
Produce the beginning sound of letter in a given word.
Give the sound of the letter Yy and Kk.
I.
Procedure
1. Review of two learned letters. Ring the beginning letter of the following pictures. Listen as the teacher says the
name of the picture.
1. Presenting of pictures. (pictures that begins with Yy and Kk.)
2. Recognizing the letter name Yy and /y/ (sound) and the letter Kk and the /k/ sound.
What sound do you hear at the beginning of the picture name?
The teacher produces the /y/ and /k/ sound as the pupils listen.
Give the (sound) /y/ and /k/ three times.
3. Recognizing letter name Yy and letter Kk.
Show flashcards of Big letter Y and small letter y and Big letter K and small letter k..
4. Writing letter Yy.
This is how we write Mama Y and baby y and Big letter K and small letter k. (Teacher trace the letter in the
flashcard using the finger.)
Call volunteer pupil/s to trace the flashcard with a finger as he/she gives its sound.
5. Write Mama Y and baby y and Mama K and baby k on the air, on the palm, on their classmates back, or on
the desk. (Encourage pupils to count the number of stroke as they write letter it.)
