Hi Customer,
My name is <xxxxx> and I am the assigned remote deployment specialist to perform the HP
3PAR OS Upgrade for array <serial no.> scheduled on <Date and Time in 24 HR format
only>. My contact details are as follows:

Based on the latest logs, the system health check looks good and is valid for an online
upgrade. The remote connection to the array is working fine hence we can perform the
upgrade remotely. (If system is not calling home, please use this statement We dont have
remote access to this array and upgrade will need to be performed over a virtual room,
kindly ensure someone is available with LAN access to array as the upgrade codes are big in
size)

Please review the following points and confirm accordingly:
1. Ensure the Host and Array recommendations that was shared earlier & also attached
with this email are implemented. Failure to follow the recommendations (e.g. MS
MPIO patch) may cause host disconnect/upgrade issues.
2. Ensure Network firewall is configured as per the instructions shared earlier. (remove
this point if the array is already connected to NGDC)
3. Can we update the service processor a day prior to the actual OS upgrade? SP OS
update is a non-intrusive task? . (remove this point if there is not enough lead time)
4. On the day of upgrade can we login 1hr early to perform non-intrusive pre-upgrade
checks?. (remove this point if there is not enough lead time)
5. Let us know the details of the Contact person who would be available to approve
controller node reboots and validate host status during the upgrade.

Activity Overview (detailed instructions can be provided if required):
1. SP update with latest code -1hr (non-intrusive)
2. Pre-upgrade Array Health Checks - 30min (non-intrusive)
3. Installation of pre-requisite patches (PXX, PXX) and /or scripts (scripts names)
-30min (non-intrusive)

4. Controller node upgrade (reboot) performed one at a time with host validation (XX
min per Node+default pause 5min. Total = XXmin)
5. Customer to verify there are no host issues and approve next node reboot and so on.
6. Installation of required patches (PXX, PXX) and /or post installation scripts (scripts
names) - 30min (non-intrusive)
7. Drive cage firmware upgrade - (Xmin per cage. total XX min) (non-intrusive activity)
8. Final system health check and post upgrade checks - 30min (non-intrusive)
9. Physical Drive firmware upgrade run as background task X min (non-intrusive)
10. Customer to do final host connectivity validation and confirm the upgrade is
successful.
Please download the software packages from the below portal as a backup, in case we face
any challenge in deploying the codes remotely.
