MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 060-2014

APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE HEREIN ATTACHED LOCAL NUTRITION ACTION PLAN
FOR 2014-2016 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT OF GUINOBATAN, ALBAY.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Government Code of 1991, local government units
shall endeavor to be self-reliant and shall continue exercising the powers and discharging the
duties and functions currently vested upon them. Local government units shall likewise exercise
such other powers and discharge such other functions and responsibilities as are necessary,
appropriate, or incidental to the efficient and effective provisions of basic services and facilities,
such as, but not limited to, the provision of social welfare services, which include, among others,
programs and projects on child and youth welfare, family and community welfare, women's welfare,
and other pro-poor projects and nutrition services;
WHEREAS, the Local Nutrition Action Plan of the Municipality of Guinobatan for 20142016 had been prepared to identify nutrition interventions aimed at improving social services and
had likewise provided action plans to develop the nutrition programs of the municipality;
WHEREAS, malnutrition is a significant health problem which affects millions of lives; and
in recent years, the Philippines situation has not substantially improved in this aspect and poor
nutrition is continuously being felt. It is thereby appropriate to develop strategies to improve the
quality of life of our constituency and to have substantial decreases in overall disease burden;
WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:
RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay in
session assembled, to adopt as it hereby adopts the herein attached Local Nutrition Action Plan for
2014-2016 of the Local Government Unit of Guinobatan, Albay.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished such concerned

offices/agencies, for their information and appropriate action.
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that the above-mentioned Local Nutrition Action Plan for
2014-2016 of the Local Government Unit of Guinobatan, is hereto attached and marked as Annex
A.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY on motion of the Sponsoring Committee Chairman,
Honorable Councilor Carlomagno P. Flores, and duly seconded by the members present this 5 th
day of May, 2014 during their 15th Regular Session.
