MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 101-2014

GRANTING AUTHORITY TO HON. ANN Y. ONGJOCO, MUNICIPAL MAYOR OF GUINOBATAN,
ALBAY TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF
TRADE AND INDUSTRY WITH OFFICE ADDRESS AT 2ND FLR., DBP BUILDING, LEGAZPI FOR
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TIMBANGAN NG BAYAN PROJECT IN THIS MUNICIPALITY.
Proponent/Sponsor:

Committee on Trade, Industry & Economic Enterprises

WHEREAS,
as part of the mission of the Department of Trade and Industry of
protecting and upholding the rights of consumers, it humbly aims to establish a TIMBANGAN NG
BAYAN CENTER in all public markets throughout the country;
WHEREAS,
the implementation of the above-cited project would be able to help
consumers determine/check the accuracy of the weight and quantity of the goods they have
purchased and at the same time frown upon and discourage the proliferation of dishonest and
deceitful vendors;
WHEREAS,
the implementation of this project in the municipality, particularly in the
public market, is deemed to be beneficial to its constituents especially so that each and every one
of them are consumers/purchasers of dry and wet goods;
WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:
RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay
in session assembled, to grant as it hereby grants authority to Honorable Ann Y. Ongjoco, to enter
into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Trade and Industry with office address at
2nd Flr., DBP Building, Legazpi for the implementation of the Timbangan ng Bayan Project in this
Municipality.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement are made
an integral part of this resolution and a copy of which is hereto attached as Annex A;
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Hon. Mayor
Ann Y. Ongjoco, the Department of Trade and Industry, and such other concerned offices or
agencies, for their information and appropriate action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY, on motion of Honorable Councilor Ricky S. Matza and duly
seconded by the members present this 15 th day of September, 2014 during their 33 rd Regular
Session.
