Read the text about how we can help to stop

water pollution:

Water covers 75% of the Earths surface, but one

person in eight doesnt have clean water to drink, I
believe that we can change this statistic and help
to keep our water clean.
Most people in Britain use about 150 litres of water
every day. We prepare food with it, we clean with it
and we drink it. But water is becoming dirty because were polluting it. Ships pollute the seas
with oil. Factories pollute rivers with dangerous chemicals. People throw away plastic bottles,
metal cans and cardboard boxes. This litter gets into rivers and sea. Oil, chemicals, plastic and
metal can kill animals and plants in the water.
Some people think that its not important to think about water pollution. They believe that its
a problem for governments and other countries. But I dont think that they are right. In my
opinion we can all do things to keep our water clean. We can recycle paper, metal, glass and
plastic. We can put litter into bins. We can tell more people about the problem and we can help
to clean up our beaches and rivers.
In conclusion, I believe that we can change the world with small actions. Think global, act local.
