CHAPTERIZATION
Introduction:
The term Non-performing assets figured in the Indian banking
sector after introduction of financial sector reforms in 1992.The
prudential norms on income recognition,assets classification and
provisioning thereon are implemented from the financial year
1992-1993,as per the recommendation of the committee on the
financial system.NPA does not generate interest income for the
bank but at the same time banks are required to make provision
for such NPAs from their current output.
Company Profile:
Syndicate bank is one of the nationalize bank which was establish
in 19 oct 1925, syndicate bank is having a businesss mixture of
Rs.4 lakh crore & is having a vision of taking it to Rs.10 lakh crore
till 2020.Government holding in syndicate bank is amount 74%
being among the top most of government holding bank.Net profit
for the bank for financial year 2013-2014 was Rs.998 crore.
Research Methodology:
Research may be defined a scientific and
a systematic search for information on a specific topic research in
an art of scientific investigation search of any may be known as
DATA
A)Problem Definition:
There is carrying cost or holding cost for NPA assets as there
is loss of interest, provision to be made etc. Appropriate and
timely action for recovery can reduce the level of NPAs and
further reduce the holding cost. The focus of this study is on
reducing the level of NPAs and further reducing the holding
cost by adopting appropriate strategy for recovery.

B) Objectives of the study:


1) To study the NPA of syndicate bank in detail.
2) To determine the % of NPA on overall assets.
3) To study the marketing strategy adopted by syndicate bank
for loans.
4) To understand the financial transactions of the global market.
C) Hypothesis
1) More NPA affects the profitability and performance of the
bank.
2) NPA affects liquidity of the bank.

To scope of study is confined to Gondia city Syndicate
Bank of Gondia
Branch.

F) Limitation of study:
I. The study is limited due to time and constraint
ii. The study is limited sample size is 30.
4. Data Analysis, Tabulation and Interpretations:
Data will be collected through above said method
and data analysis will be done through proper.
Data analysis and interpretation will be based on
chart, tabulated and diagram and statically method.
5. Findings:
Finding will be based on analysis of data.
6. Conclusion:
Conclusion of the study will be produced to executives
summery.
7. Recommendation and suggestions:
Suggestion will be based on the finding after the
analysis of data.
