Purpose and contents of the role:

Act as a key account manager for the field quality of the products he or she is in charge of.

Is the "front door" for TSM Field Quality to help defining customer priorities and to communicate
on quality status, based on the forecast plan he or she will develop.

Initiate and coordinate quality actions inside GTT or with GTO to achieve quality targets (fault
frequency, warranty cost, unplanned stop,...).

Secure the voice of the customer in the complete 8D process and address the process root
cause.

Receive or develop campaign requirements to secure GTT technical recommendation towards


TSM.

The scope for this position is to manage the overall quality of the FH for Latin-America. For that,
priorities will have to be provided to other Product Quality Leaders and the heavy duty engine
quality will be managed directly. To drive the engine quality, joint work with counterparts and
teams in Europe will be needed.

Responsibilities / Main tasks:

Manage fora with TSM (Application Quality Meeting for instance) when applicable

Search actively for customer quality issues (sources : MQR, warranty database, warranty part
return flow or expertise, GTO alert, SQA alert,...)

Lead the cross-functional team (GTT, GTO) to document or refine cases in order to get the
solving actions launched (QJ, QSP, QPMR) with rapid field response.

When QJ owner, open QJ, set QJ closure criteria and validate the Market Ready milestone.
Emphasize the priority for containment action to protect the customers.

Lead Task Force and report to Steering Committees when applicable.

When QJ owner, lead the 7D and 8D part of the QJ, to state upon solution efficacy and to address
process root cause.

Perform quality predictions to consolidate the plan towards targets and report quality KPI
accordingly.

Contribute in Global Product Quality Leader meeting to get support and to strive for synergies
among Regions.

Ensure communication on field quality or on customer satisfaction within GTT (Purchasing,


Warranty, Ranges, Engineering...) and GTO to anchor priorities or the understanding of the status
and forecasts.

Consolidate GTT technical recommendation for campaign requests and secure the pace of the
GTT approval process to provide answer to TSM.

Targets:

Lead time to solving process kick-off


Field quality KPI : Fault Frequency, Unplanned stop, Warranty cost target achievements
8D completion, with process root cause addressed and solution effectiveness confirmed

Authorities:

Defined field quality priorities within GTT and GTO

Open QJ (including actions towards GTO) when QJ owner

Initiate QPMR

Initiate campaign recommendation

Address process root cause

Essential skills and needed experience:

Leadership

Quality culture and tools (6 sigma,...)

Customer and business oriented

Solid experience in quality

Truck product knowledge

Advanced knowledge on statistics applied to quality control

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability for multicultural cross functional work

Ability to deal with uncertain requirements and forecast decisions

Negotiations

Requirements:

Engineering or University degree + technical in mechanics/electric/electronic/mechatronic or


equivalent.

Project management experience in an automotive or related industry, preferably in quality


management or reliability engineering

Fluent in English and in Portuguese

IT applications:

Tools for database or knowledge management (Argus QJ, SWAT/QRAFT, Kola, Protus,....)

Office, livemeeting, Teamplaces .
