Experiences in a crowded bus

Perhaps you think that a journey in a bus is quite an ordinary procedure, part of the days routine.
Well let me tell you something. A bus ride can be of three types. One; cool, thats when lady Luck
smiles on you and you get a seat. Two, Tough thats when, you stand and theres very little
breathing space. Three: HELL, thats when you start to feel like you are in a gas chamber
surrounded by a crazy mob with each person trying to make life insufferable for every body else.
Now I am or more appropriately was one of those kind who never get into overcrowded buses
and tum their noses up in disgust when they see one. I preferred waiting and getting a seat to
standing and reaching my destination quickly. When I joined college I found quite a few busses that
catered to my tastes.
But once it so happened that I missed my usual bus and had to wait for an alternative. It was
getting late and I wanted to reach on time. So I finally settled for a bus that was comparatively
empty. I bought my ticket with a jaunty air from the surly conductor and glanced at my fellow
passengers. They all had that why-did you-have-to-pick-this-bus attitude. I felt slightly affronted
but soon came to the conclusion that I was an un welcomed visitor and this bus was evidently a
favorite with many I shuddered involuntarily as I thought of the other horrors in store for me.
Within a matter of seconds the bus was packed and I found myself sandwiched between an old
lady and a middle-aged woman whose laughter sounded very much like the neigh of a horse. The
old lady next to me glared venomously and muttered under her breath. I gave her a weak smile and
turned away.
How I envied the driver; he could sit comfortably and drive in peace while the passengers
ground their teeth at each other. He seemes to have a curious attitude towards his task. He would
dash at full speed somewhat akin to Michael Schumacher and suddenly stop for no reason at all as
though struck by some thought. (You see, passengers neither got in nor out) Im of the opinion that
he did this on purpose just to see the passengers jostle each other.
But when I grasped the principal of inertia rather quickly whereas at school my physics teacher
had tried every trick in the book to drill it into my head. Somehow it never did sink in. This first
hand experience taught me more than any imposition did.
More and more people clambered in, with the conductor vociferously encouraging them to do so.
I wondered at his Machiavellian cunningness as he convinced his passengers that there was plenty
of space, while in reality there was none. Just then my feet were squashed by a plump lady. Now, a
lanky youth got in. His straightened shoulder length hair was streaked with an appalling shade of
maroon (which his stylist would have labeled as Burgundy). The old lady started blaming the
present youth and their life style.
Just then a strong odour assailed my nostrils. I choked and spluttered and turned around to catch
a glimpse of a fisherwoman with her basket. She chattered and complained to all the people around
her, never stopping, never wanting a reply. I was beginning wander whether ever reach my college
in one piece.
Finally after what seemed to me to aeons of time but actually only a quarter of an hour I reached
my college. I assiduously pushed past the other passengers eliciting many protests. I turned a deaf
ear to all the complaints and marched on defiantly. My bone crushing ordeal made me bolder and
wiser. I felt guite triumphant and almost said Veni, Vidi, Vici-I came, I saw, I conquered.

Dewdrops and Teardrops

What a pleasant day to walk down
Experiencing the aroma of nature
Thin, cold, pleasant breeze whispering
A wonderful day of warmth and pleasure

The lush green turf that was spread

Was glittering in the morning mist
Wearing crystal crown on their head
Was covered in the blanket mist

But why the tears adorned my face

Gushing out from my heart
Spilling out from my eyes
Ran the warm fluid in a slow pace

And I walked away from that lawn

Away from the smiling grass
When I find that I should not be here for I am alone
In midst of the beautiful grass.

Drip drop drip drop

So was the music that oozed out from my heart

Drip drop drip drop

So were the beauty drops that embellished the grass
Drip drop drip drop
So fell my tears
Drip drop drip drop
So stood the dews.

Barbarians call
To our ancestors we call
A name barbarians.
Who lived with nature
Nurtured it to nurture them
Many vanished worlds
In their reminisces we live
Toddled and stamped them
The serenity of eyes vanished
As years passed
Civilizations made man
Culture and ethics
But again man like a beast
Ravaged the nature: the mother Goddess.
His fellows and enemies
His life itself.
Unknowingly looting the life essence
To a dead certanity
Now to the barbarians we look

To calm Mother Nature

But all: all now as
Blind as batflickers their dream to serenity
Knowing the way, cherished to live as a beast.

Importance of Value Education

Values are those things that really matter to each of us..the ideas and beliefs we hold as
special. They are principles which guide mans desires, feelings and actions. A value always guides
us to do the right things and help us to be morally sound. Values however are either innate or
acquired. Innate values are our inborn divine virtues such as love, peace, happiness, mercy and
compassion as well as the positive moral qualities such as respect, humility, tolerance,
responsibility, cooperation, honesty and simplicity. Acquired values are those external values
adopted at ones place of birth or place of growth and are influenced by the immediate environment.
Examples of acquired values are ones mode of dress, habits and tendencies.
Man as a social being is obliged to possess social values in life. It is essential for the welfare of
the society. Social values are more or Less based on religious and moral values. More and spiritual
values include good character, companion kindness, and moral stability, humanitarianism etc. The
moral values present a true perspective of the development of any society or nation. They tell us to
what extent a society or nation has developed itself. Education can contribute a lot in the
propagation of moral and spiritual values. Nowadays our education system focuses only on
intellectual exercise and not on the acquisition of moral and spiritual values, this is the cause of
troubles that exist in our society
When we analyze the present situations in our nation, we can see that many unpleasant incidents
occur, because of the lack of moral and spiritual values. Many children commit violence and antisocial activates. One boy killed his classmate, another school boy murdered his teacher, even school
childern engaged in sexual activites. All these calamities show the lack of social and moral
values.Values can be easily and more effectively propagated through the ducation system.
We known todays childern are tomorrow,s cihzens. If we give good education to the present day children,
their future will be bright. now we are living in the modern century. If we use science and technology in the
proper way it is not difficult for us to solve the problems of morality, and valuse. The main object of study is
to inculcate moral and value based education in schools and colleges and to know the attitude of
intermediate students towards moral values.
Values bring quality and meaning to life, which give a person his identity and character. Values also act as
guidelines- they make us realize that what we are is more important than what we have. Value education
helps in developing poistive qualities like character, good conduct, disciplinc.

As Mahtma Gandhi says, "If wealth is lost nothing is lost. If health is lost something is lost. if character is
lost everything is lost.'' It is only values, which mould the character of an individua!

REVEALING MEMORIES OF MY
FRIENDS.
If time has the power
To read my mind,
It would stand still,
I may never take leave

I came here one day,

With nothing, but fear
But the fire called friendship,
Changed my life..

The never ending chats,

The playful fights,
The shared lunches
Nothing in this world;
Could replace those times .
Parting is painful
It is more so with us,
When it is with these days;
The loveliest moments of life

We were together
For most part of life,
I will miss you all forever;
No matter wherever I, go

Dancing Lessons
Here I am, writing about what dance taught me about life. Why?

Well, because dance and life are synonymous in a lot of ways. They both consist of movement and
motion, of trying to grasp something beyond yourself, and of enjoying yourself in the process of
grasping that which isbigger than yourself.

1. Its not about the most gifted dancer, its about the most
hardworking.

The best dancers are those who work hard at the art of dance. They are the ones who spend day and
night dancing to perfect their craft.
And the some can be said about life. Its not usually the most gifted that get far in life, its the
most hardworking.

2. There is no such thing as finished.

Oh, how I wished my work as a dancer was finished. How I wished. How I wished that I knew/
could do was the best there was ever going to be - period. But, thats not how it works. As a dancer
youre always pushing yourself to the next level, while realizing that there is no final level.
And the same can be said about life. There is not final level, no end goal; the point is to continue
walking on the road and advance while realizing that all the joy, all the living, is in you walking
(living)-not in you reaching "the end.''

3. Look at others, not yourself.

As a dancer the mirror is both your friend and enemy. Its your friend when youre practicing- and
need to look at yourself, but your enemy when youre in front of an auidence-and need to look at
other people. What [good] dancers do, is practice both. Good dancers use the mirror to improve
themselves but also practice dancing with the mirro equally, for they know that when its time to
perform theyre going to have to known how to look at others-not themselves.
And the same can be said about life. Its okay to focus on yourself when youre by yourself and
trying to improve yourself, but when yourre with other realize that youre they not the only
person arounf and that thy too matter. Constantly
switch between paying attention to yourself and to others.

4. Train for all situations

In my style of dance theres a lot of mixture of both freestyle dancing and choreogrphy dancing.
Train for freestyle dancing becaues you never know when youre going to randomly be asked to
dance. And rain in choreography because sometimes the occasion calls for well rehearsed routine.
And the same can be said about life, Practice being rehearsed and spontaneousBecause life is a mixture of the two. Sometimes life calls for a schedule a set routine, and
sometimes life call for that set routine to be thrown out the window and for you to make choices
on the fly. Make sure you can do both.

5. Connect with people in an emotional situation.

This is similar to looking at others and not yourself, but with a little more complexity.
When one dances noticing others theyre showing theyre not lost in their own world or
obnoxiously self-centered. In return, the person/people youre aware of also give you their attention.
You have to connect with them emotionally.

And the same can be side about life. When you have someones attention realize that its not all
about you. Sure you can talk about whatever you want, but realize that youll best connect with
your listeners by expanding on what they know and what theyre currently feeling emotionally
(for were humans, and were emotional). Shape your message so that the present audience can
better grasp it.

6. Everyones unique. Even if they dont want to be, they are, and they
have to live with it.
Dancers, good dancers, realize that can learn from their favorite dancers, but never be them. In the
end, they add their own uniqueness to the style, whether they want to or not. So the best option is of
course, to master your own style no one else can dance your style better than you after-all.

And the same can be said about life. A lot of people emulate their idols, but theyll never be their
idols. They will always be themselves. So might as realize this and improve yourself to the best of
your abilities.

A Readers Response to Manja Veyil Marangal

It is interestingly the mystery of life rather than its intensity that makes literature exciting.
Literature explores the myriad forms of about the possibilities of life and are not always the
reflection of life. It may or may not taste real, but it should or must have the flavour of fantasy as
Coleridge calls it. And her I take an anticipatory bail before committing the crime of dissecting
(destructing) the most promising novel of the present day Malayalam literature. I am not a coritic
and is not going to tackle the epistemological lag (as Paulo Coelho calk it) of a written text, nor I
am a scholar to play with the jargons of the literary techniques and narrative strategies. I am just a
lay man and I play the safe position of a reader and this dose not even take the predisposed track of
a literary review. This is just a response; a readers response, as spontaneous and as natural as it
comes out; it is just like as you feel work of a true artist.
who lives in Baharin, is an Indian expatriate writer who pens in Malayalam. He was in the
headlines recently and is familiar to you through his award winning novel Aadujeevitam. You may
ask why I did not pick the most demanding and went for manja veyil marangal. For it is again a
natural response to know the unknown rather than the known.
Truly MVM is an unknown domain in all aspects; in men, matter and milieu. It is notoriously
unconventional and challenges the reader with its brimming magical spell and experiments with all
the possible literary conventions of the present day literature. It is a metafiction but not like the
many that we may have read or heard about. MVM is a metafiction with a new definition. For its
narrative or speakers voice is divided more the two; the writer and the writer. Confused??? The
first writer is the novelist himself and the second is a boy called Christy Anthraprer who writes his

life which he claims to be his novel, also can be treated as his autobiography which is the novel
within the novel. The author Benyamin plays the multifaceted role of the first reader of Christys
draft, the investigation of his life, his land and his mysterious existence. In short, there are two
writers, two voices, but still one story, the story of Christy, his land the mysterious the un known
universe of Diego Garcia. There exists its the obvious question that who is the real hero of the
novel. Let me make it clear Benyamin appears as the author himself to whom, Christy is sending
the broken pieces of his novel through different yet unbelievable sources. Benyamin follows his
foot marks like a desperate shepherd. follows his lost sheep. For christy has become his character in
the novel, in his fictional space, but he lost him in the flux of reality because Christy has an
existence outside the fictional realm of a novel. Like any other met fictional novel. MVM also
attempts a free play between reality and fiction. But it is not as comical or complex as
MVM explores the theory of new Historicism. It celebrity the life in Diego Garcia, an island
only miles away from India. As, we the readers follow christy we are also following the conjusted
streets in Diego-the island that curl around like a worm. Diego exists as a parallel universe in the
psyche of Christy as he calls India as the Vankara but Diego that happens to be the life over the
big land. Dose not exactly treats Alex Harlands Beach effect. For in Harlanhly Beach it is the
illusion of a parallel universe that permeates in mind of inmates. But for Diego it is the seamy
reality of existence I even through it forms a parallel mode of existence it is not as raw and edgy
as the history of kokkanchina In Alabagade Penmakkal. The history of Diego is more like a dream,
a saga which has not faded away in the of sea, but is something which is get to happen.
MVM mesmerizes you with the countless glimpses of Christian, history, black magic and coded
secrets which is as thrilling and dramatic as Da.Vinci code. But apart the milen and matter, it is the
man; Christy who plunders the major share of your brain. For he is the Hamletian hero who has a
mission which he struggles to forfeit. Now like the real hamlet, his mission is not an assassination
of the flesh, but is an assassination of the self in paper and the bloodshed is depicted as a poetic
day dream. He tries to overcome his writers block by overwhelming curioslty to known; to discover
what happened to his school friends. And this journey culminates in senthil, to whose murder he
become an eyewitness. His dangerous innocence in a land which is as rotten as Denmark fumes up
his confusion. He fails to fight against the and the so called authorities, for the truth, for his
survival. He is the unconventional hero, the silent rebel and is not like the other writers who status
for pleasing rather than compromising with the existing conventions and norms. He does not care
about his stance as a failed man! Even if he is defined as failed man or in his own terms, he is a man
of success. Success and failure are creations of ones thoughts and for Christy everything around
him is a failure.
At last, the novel unveils the unresolved dilemma of art vs. artist, creation vs. certainty. Which
matters the most?
Benyamins relentless thirst is quenched when he gets the full draft of Christys novel. At that
moment, his search for Christy comes to an end. Neither Christy nor his existence matters any more
to him. It is the story that suffices not the author
And theoretically the author is dead. What happens to Christy is a mystery which explodes as
our though as an unavoidable query and demands an inerrable answer.
Christy lives in our dermas. Perhaps he is a man from the past, he is a man of antiquity. He is a
lost hero/ character, but not a lost man. The solidity of his existence, grow through critics, readers

and through their theoretical reviews, technical analyzers, mtellectual tells debates and seminars.
Ais I have already stated this attempt is neither the product of an intellectual talks gathering, nor of
a theoretical meditation this is just a response, an ordinary readers response.

Indian Affairs towards mobile boom

social seience
Science is all inclusive and very comprehensive. It touches the life of everyone in more ways
than we can imagine. Its achievements, discoveries and invention have been really fantastic and
wonderful. It has been pushing forward with terrific speed in every walk of like. Life without
science and its various boons cant be imagined. Today there is a boom in the world of mobile
communication due to new developments in this technology and wide acceptance. In this paperless
area, it is interesting to go through trends of wireless technology industry in India.

Indias man on the street has discovered the joy of talking while on the move. People talk at bus
stop and in trains; they trade in shares and strike deals; they build romantic alliances and break
barriers-all on handheld mobile phones
The mobile telephone reflects a sweeping boom in consumer spending. The little handset is a
must-have for most Indians, be they business heads and executives or small-time-shopkeepers,
housemaids, carpenters and vegetable-vendors.
The fast-growing unban population is getting increasingly westernized, but the diversity among
the people remain as opportunities for micro segmentation and targeted campaigns to follow. But
cell phones are just the most visible aspect of the booming telecom industry which was thrown open
to private enterprise in 1994. Cellular subscriber numbers have begun to swell, making India one of
the fastest growing mobile communication markets in the world.
The major driver to change in the mobile area for the last 5 years has been the massive enabling
implication of digital technology. Skirting out from speech dominated services we are now
experiencing massive-growth in applications involving EDGE (Enhanced Date for Global
evolution) together with the start of internet applications using WAP (Wordless Application Protocol
) and i-mode. The mobile phone has not only followed the watch, the calculator and the organizer as
an essential personal accessory but has subsumed all of them.
India currently has more than 63 million fixed line 80 million wireless connections. Today a
mobile handset sells every 16 minutes in India.
The number of wireless subscribers will likely reach about 150 million.

The Indian wireless market much more advanced than most westerners might imagine. The
leading operators have ambitions plans. The overall economy is booming and Indians sense that a
cell phone is a must have 21st century tool. New technologies like WAP, EDGE, JAVA, GPRS and
VGA camera etc. raised the consumer to a new world of technology in his hard.
Favorable regulatory changes are new provided by government of India. India offers an
unprecedented opportunity for telecom. Service operators, infrastructure vendors, manufacture and
associates services companies. A host of factors are contributing to enlarged opportunities for
growth and investment in telecom. In general, this market is not looking back, and anyone
contemplating an investment in India has soild evidence of sustainable growth.

A beautiful shade of green in spring,
At times white with the coldest frost.

Dreams falling apart as an autumn leaf,

Sprouting again in the onset of spring
Each day a surprise in its own.

Why we dream what we dream

Consciousness in like an ocean with different issues living at different levels. Dreams, new
research is showing, are often distorted reflection of our daily lives-not necesssarily symbolic
pictures of unconscious wishes, as Freud believed, or random, nonsense images caused by brain
signals. Many experts now believe our dreams are so closely related to our working lives that we
can use. them to help us recognize and work out inner conflict.
Men and women dreams differently. Why? its biology and social conditioning. Men have
action oriented dreams involving strangers, identified mostly by their occupation. Usually thees
dreams are set out doors or in unfamiliar surroundings. Women dream more of emotional one-onone struggles with loved ones, usually in indoor settings. Women dream of someone they know, and
they have more problems and distractions in the dreams.
If life stager affect our dreams, so do our altitudes. Studier shows that angry people act out their
anger in their dreams. Depressed people sometimes dreams theyre victimsof rejection, humiliation
or abandonment. Creative people often harness their dreams to solve problems. Writers, artistic or
dentists when they to sleep, ask their sue conscious for a dream that will help them with unresolved
issues.
That we gain invaluable insights from our dreams in undeniable. That our dreams can heal
psychic pain is reassuring. But can imager from our dreams foretell the future? Rarely, but some
experts say it can happen.
In the weeks prior to his assassination, as one account goes, Abraham Lincoln dreamed he heard
people sobbing, and wandered downstairs to find out what was going on. In the east room, he saw a
coffin and a corpse whose face was covered. Who is dead in the white house? he asked a soldier
standing nearby. The president, the soldier answered. He was killed by an assassin. So the hours
you spend asleep could be the key to a better life.

The Spirit of Christmas

There were two best friends named Irene and Clare in a place named Yorkshire. Both were studying
in grade life. Grene was born with a silver spoon. Whereas Clare came from a poor family. Grene

when she got to known from one of the children that her friend came to them every day and spent
time with these children. And then grene understood what makes her friends happy always. She
understood that happiness can only be received when we share whatever we have with someone
who needs us Clare though poor. Had a heart of diamond. Grenes life just changed from that day.
By the grene of God her father was saved. Grene decided that she Wald came to that childrens
home with her friend every day.

One day trip to kanyakumari

Tours and excursions are those unique opportunities which provides a variety of experiences both
educative and entertaining. The whole college was busting with excitement once the date of the tour
was announced. We could not wait for our trip to kanyakumari, the beautiful southernmost tip of
India.
We left from our college after 12 am on the 24 th of February 2012. We were taken in two buses and
were accompanied by Sr.Grace of our journey singing, dancing and playing together. We reached
kanyakumari at 3.30 am. We took a dormitory there and after freshening up we went to see the
sunrise. Oh! What a splendid sight it was! The confluence of three water bodies -the Bay of Bengal,
the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea makes the sunrise unique and spectacular. Next we visited the

Vivekananda rock memorial situated on a rocky islet just off the shore. We spend some time
shopping after which we had our breakfast.
We then visited the padmana bhapuram place, the epitome of Kerala art and architecture. We also
visited the Padmanabhaswami temple. In Thrivanathapuram we visited the kovalam and
sanghumugham beaches. We played in the waves, picked up shells and had a great time. We were
running late so we had to return immediately. After dinner we left for kottayam and reached the
college at 1.45 am. We all stayed together in the hostel and left for our homes the next morning.
The tour was one of the most memorable experiences of our life at Mount Carmel and it will remain
etched in our memories forever. We enjoyed every bit of the tour which had enable us to built a
stronger and deeper bond among ourselves.
