1. Course Description
Linear circuit analysis and design
Credits: 3 Prerequisite: MATH 142 and ELCT 102 or 220

2. Course Objectives
1. Students will reliably demonstrate the knowledge of Kirchhoff's Current and Voltage Laws
(KCL and KVL)
2. Students will reliably demonstrate the ability to solve DC circuits using nodal and mesh
analysis and Thevenin and Norton transformations.
3. Students will reliably demonstrate the ability to find the complex impedances of network
components.
4. Students will reliably demonstrate the ability to solve AC circuits using the complex forms
of KCL, KVL, nodal and mesh analysis as well as Thevenin and Norton transformations.
5. Students will demonstrate the ability to using PSPICE and MATLAB for DC and AC circuit
analysis.

7. Course Policies
An attendance policy
Attendance may not be taken every class, however student absence during the quiz, exam
or test will not be considered as an excuse for the corresponding zero grade.
The cases when student missed the class due to documented medical conditions or other
extraordinary circumstances will be resolved on a case by case basis.
The violations of academic honesty (plagiarism, cheating etc.) will result on zero grade in
the corresponding assignment and reports submitted to the Department and College
administration, which will make a decision regarding the further actions to be taken.
Policy statement on disabilities or special needs recommended by the Office of Student
Disability Services: "Any student with a documented disability should contact the Office of
Student Disability Services at 803777-6142 to make arrangements for appropriate
accommodations."
