UDP setting for performance

To avoid looking for all possible repositories using UDP, one can disable the setting by
following the procedure mentioned below
Control Panel->ProjectWise V8i Network Configuration
In the General tab, toggle on Prevent UDP for DNS and Listing, Apply
In the Datasource Listing tab, make sure that Alpo (and any other database
servers) are in the list, Apply

Log-In to ProjectWise
Log-In
The ProjectWise log-in dialog is used to login to a ProjectWise server. This is a necessary
procedure and will be shown when File->ProjectWise->Log In is executed, or when
Open Model or Update Model is executed without a previous successful log-in. An
option to use Windows Single Sign-On is also available. Server side configuration is
required for a data source to enable the windows login and Single Sign-On feature.

Add to ProjectWise
To add a model to the ProjectWise server for the first time go to File->ProjectWise>Add to ProjectWise.
This shows the data source repository tree (folders and projects only) and allows the user
to select a target folder or project where the model files will be added. There can be two
choices here, either
Each model, along with all its ancillary files, is added to a project folder, created as a
child of the selected project. The name of project folder is same as that of model.
Each model (document set) is added to the folder selected in the following dialog instead
of making a separate folder for each model.
Note: A new folder can be created anywhere in the tree control by right clicking on a
folder and selecting New Folder. The combo box at the bottom allows for selection of
recently accessed paths saving the time for future traversal through the tree control.

Open Model
The File->ProjectWise->Open Model command is used to select a model from
ProjectWise and open it in either normal (check-out) or read-only mode (select with
check-box at bottom left). Opening model creates a *.PWS (ProjectWise Settings) file to
store server related settings.

Figure 3: Open Model Dialog

Update Model
The File->ProjectWise->Update Model command allows the user to update a model
edited in AutoPIPE. Giving the user a choice to check-in, update server copy of, or free
the lock from the model. A new version can also be specified while checking-in. On
certain servers, an option to specify comments is also available. These comments are
stored in the Audit Trail History of the transactions corresponding with the model file.

Model Properties
File->ProjectWise->Model Properties, shows information about the checked-out
model in a property sheet.
The model description can be set in AutoPIPE from Tools->Model Options->Description.

ProjectWise Document Set

Document Set
In order to group together all files corresponding to each model, we utilize ProjectWises
Document Set feature. A logical set is created which marks one document as the
Master document for the group. The Master document (.dat in our case) enables the user
to check-in / check-out the whole set all together.
Currently the following 24 file types are supported to be added as part of the Document
Set:

.DAT,
// Model
.CMB,
// Combination File
.XML,
// Stress Summary File
.RPT,
// Input Listing Report
.OUT,
// Result Output Report
.CHK,
// Model Consistency Check
.SUM,
// Stress Summary Consistency Check
.MDB,
// Result Database
.TTC,
// TTA Control File (old)
.TTL,
// TTA Control File (new)
.TPP,
// TTA Pipe Properties
.GDL,
// TTA Gross Discontinuity
.TTI,
// TTA Input
.TTP,
// Thermal Transient Profile
.UNT,
// Unit files
.LIB,
// Library files
.HGR,
// Hanger analysis file
.PXD,
// AutoPLANT Import/Export
.PXH
// AutoPLANT Import/Export
.SPC
// Response/Force Spectrum
.TIH
// Time History forcing function
.THL
// Time history location
.FS1-FS9, .F10
// Force Spectrum
.HMF
// Harmonic

Published Files Selection

File->ProjectWise->Publish shows a selection dialog for various published files
associated with the model, allows the user to select what files need to go into
ProjectWise along with the model.
Currently the following files are supported:
File->Save Screen Plot
Screen Plot
File->Save As
AutoPIPE Batch (.NTL)
AutoPLANT (.PXF)
AutoCAD (.DXF)
Caesar II (.cii)
Isogen (.PCF)
Stress ISO (.DXF)
Stress ISO (.DWG)
Stress ISO (.DGN)
AutoPIPE 6.3 (.DAT)
AutoPIPE 8.6 (.DAT)
AutoPIPE 8.9 (.DAT)
AutoPIPE 9.0 (.DAT)
AutoPIPE 9.1 (.DAT)
File->Result
Output Results (.out)
Results (.mdb)
Also, from the types defined above, only the last exported file of a type is applicable for
this operation and hence only one of each type is shown in this dialog.
Note: The option to select what output files to publish back to ProjectWise is only
effective for files generated after a model has been added to ProjectWise. If a model is
being added for the first time you can not publish output files along with it. This would
have to be done after the first time a model is added to ProjectWise. The publish dialog
would show the files that are being tracked (in the current session).
