To understand the theory of evolution

Gain an appreciation of the role of natural selection and evolution in


producing the complexity of form and function

Knowledge of evolution forms the basis for studies in genetics,


anatomy/physiology, ecology, behavior, environmental and
conservation biology, etc.

Labs:

You have to attend the lab section that you are registered in; please
read your lab before coming to the lab and bring your lab manual
every week.

Getting the most out of your labs: Be on time, bring your lab manual,
and come prepared.

Getting the most out of lectures: Posted lecture slides are not a
substitution for coming to lectures. If you want to do well in the
course, you should attend lectures and read your text.
Powerpoint lecture notes (pdf format) will be posted on Bb under Lectures

Midterm Exams: Two midterms based on lectures and assigned


reading material. Topics not covered in class will not be tested.
Final Exam: Cumulative

multiple choice)

Final Exam: 35% UTM exam period (multiple choice, short


answer, cumulative)

Laboratory assignments: 25%


Writing Assignment: 15%

Require a UTM medical certificate for medical illness


Require official documentation in the case of a death in the family
No photocopies will be accepted
