The Scapular of Mt.

Carmel, a small
replica of the religious habit, is composed of two
small square pieces of brown wool connected
by two cords & designed to be worn over the
shoulders in such a manner that one pieces
hangs in front & the other at the back. Worn in
any other way, it carries no indulgence or
promise. It may be worn under or over ones
clothes. It is complete with or without any
picture or design.
The First scapular to be worn must be blessed
& imposed by a priest using the formula of the
Roman Ritual for reception into the
Confraternity of the Scapular. Any priest may do
this. Subsequent scapulars need not to be
blessed as the blessing & imposition are
attached to the wearer for life. The Scapular,
being a scared object, should be buried or

O my God in union with the Immaculate Heart of
Mary (here kiss your Scapular as a sign of
your consecration; partial indulgence also), I
offer the precious Blood of Jesus from all the
altars throughout the world, joining it with the
offering of my every thought, word and action of
this day. O my Jesus, I desire today to gain
every indulgence and merit I can and I offer
them, altogether with myself, to Mary
Immaculate, that She may best apply them in

the interests of Most Sacred Heart. Precious
