Monologue inspired by Fight Club

I met him once Thats right, Ive - met - Tyler Durden!- Ive seen him in the
flesh and Ive even spoken to him. Hes a visionary (and a psychopath). But
whos to say most visionaries arent psychopaths? Whos to say psychopaths are
psychopaths? What is a psychopath? Someone suffering from chronic mental
disorders with abnormal behavior and thoughts. Abnormal Behavior. How can
one class normal from abnormal. What is normal? Who can define normal if
everyone is unique? Didnt the famous Charles Addams sayNormal is an illusion.
What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly. For arguments sake lets say I
agree with this ideology but you dont. Now you perceive me as abnormal
because my perception of this statement is different to yours. Does this mean
abnormality comes from difference from opinion? Does this mean that if more of
our views conflict you perceive me to be a psychopath because my beliefs and
views are different to yours? In that case unity is a sham and we will never be at
peace because all people are born differently, with different genetics, different
oxygen intakes and different thought processes. These thought processes will
always conflict with each other. Everyone perceives the person on the other side
of the conflict as abnormal when in reality there is no such thing. There is no
peace or unity. In reality the survival of the fittest in todays world is making sure
your perceptions lie with the majority. This is so that the majority dont consider
you abnormal. So that the majority dont class you as psychopaths and put you
in an institution claiming that you are a wild and violent animal because you
dont believe in the same things as society claims to be normal. Isnt that what a
democracy is? The political decision carried out is always the one that remains to
be a majority. How many of you remember you ran against president Obama last
year? How many of you remember the minority vote in the election, Mitt
Romney? If you did remember Romney, I congratulate you on being the minority.
Whats great about Tyler is hes completely different from the rest of us. At the
age of seven hed already been transferred to and from twelve homes each
stating that they could not facilitate him. He decided he had enough and then
ran away. From there its kind of blurry but he tells me that he went straight to
the public library. Tyler always loved to read. He told me that hed read most
books in the library he said at the age of ten he knew all of Newtons laws and
could understand quantum mechanics better than most scientists of our time.
But Tyler had no interest for quantum mechanics, Tyler was interested in
philosophy and sociology. Hed read about Zimbardo, Bentham, Marx, Descartes
and Lock. He knew them all. Tyler was a genius. At the age of thirteen he was a
social engineer, his brilliance in how he lied and acted. He knew nothing about
morals you see, he was never taught about love. He saw it as human weakness
and he was disgusted by most people. Tyler said he wanted to be a catalyst in
human evolution and show people all that they wanted was material. He showed
people pain real pain, the type that changes you forever. He showed people that
material was nothing and money was paper and that happiness was to do with
self-acceptance. He showed people that the media was corrupt and controlling,
that they brain washed people into wanting things they didnt need. The faster
you accept that you are societys puppet, the faster youll want to change that.
Tyler showed me this.
