Thisprojectrepresents7%ofyourtotalgrade.Youwillworkasagroupofthreestudentstocompleteit.
Youwillworkalongwiththesamegroupthatyouchooseforthepreviouswordproject.
ProjectDescription
YouareaninstructorteachingBIS101.Thedepartmenthasallocated3sectionswith25studentsin
eachsectionforyoutoteach.YourtaskistocreateanExcelworkbooktotrackthestudentsgradesand
provideanumberofmeaningfulreports.
Inyourcourse,youwillutilizeseveralassessmenttoolstotrackyourstudentsperformance.These
assessmentsareinthefirsttablebelow.ThePointsPossiblecolumnshowshowmanypointscanbe
scoredineachassessment.ThePercentagecolumnshowsthepercentageofthetotalgradethateach
assessmentholds.Youwilldropthelowesttwoquizzes(asmentionedinthetable).Thesecondtable
belowshowsthelettergradescores.AstudentfailsthecourseiftheyachieveaDoranF.

GeneralRequirements

Yourprojectshouldbeformattedanddesignedtolookpresentable.Theactualformatsor
designsusedareuptoyourowntastes.Badorformattingornoformattingwillaffectourgrade.
Yourprojectshouldbeidiotandmistakeproof.Itshouldbeprotectedfromasmanyerrorsand
accidentsaspossible(erasingdata,validations(atleast2differenttypes),IFERROR,etc.).Use
CommentstoexplainProtection,ValidationandIFERRORtoolsthatyouuse.
PropercellreferencingisVERYIMPORTANT.Ifcertaininformationchange(pointsscoredinan
assessment,gradesdistribution,orlettergradescores),thisshouldbeautomaticallyreflectedin
theworkbookformulasshouldNEVERneedtobemanuallyupdated.
Anysheetthatisnotmentionedbelow,butisneededforacertainstepcouldbecreated.
Ifcertainroworcolumnheaderscannotbedisplayedfullyinasingledisplay,makesureyouuse
FreezePaneswisely.

DetailedRequirements
1. CreateaDocumentationsheet.
a. IncludeyourfullnamesandIDsofeachgroupmember.
b. Includehyperlinkstoeachoftheothersheetsinthisworkbook.
c. TheinstructorshouldnotbeabletoeditANYofthecellsinthissheet.

2. Createthreedifferentsheets(oneforeachsection)withthestudentdata(firstname,lastname,
fullIDnumber(egb00011471),absences,andpointsachievedineachassessment).
a. Comeupwithdatafor25uniquestudentsineachsection.
b. Youshouldincludeacellthatkeepstrackofwhatpercentageofthetotalgradehas
beencompletedsofarbythewholeclass.
c. IncludeaTotalRowthatwillshowtheaverageofeachassessmentforthesection.

3. CreateasheetthatwillhaveaMasterReportforallsections.
a. ThissheetwillhaveALLstudentsfromallsectionswiththeirgrades.Thesegrades
shouldbecalculatedasapercentagefromthetotalscore.Filtershouldbeenabled.
b. Thisreportshouldincludethetotalgradecurrentlyachievedbythestudentandthe
correspondinglettergrade.Usingthetotalgradecurrentlyachieved,andthe
percentageofthetotalgradecompletedsofar(fromstep2partb),youshouldcalculate
thecurrentpercentagescoreofthestudent.
c. FormateachstudentsrecordtoshowfailingstudentswithaRedFillandWhiteColor
Font.FormateachstudentsrecordtoshowstudentsachievinganAwithaGreenFill
andWhiteColorFont.TheformatshouldapplytothewholerowandNOTjusttothe
totalgradecell.

4. Createasheettoshowareportforindividualstudentperformance.
a. Allassessmentsshouldbeavailableinthisreportwiththepercentagescoredalongwith
thetotalgradeachieved,lettergradeandthepercentageofthetotalgradecompleted
(fromstep3partb).
b. YouwillhaveonlyonecellthatcanbeeditedtoinserttheIDofthestudentthatyou
wanttosearchfor.AssoonastheIDisentered,thereportshouldbeautomatically
populated.
c. Thisreportshouldincludeapartthatwillwarntheinstructorofstudentswhoarenot
performingwell.Ifastudenthasmissed5ormoreclasses,orhasscoredlessthan70%
(usingthepercentageofthetotalgradecompletedfromparta)awarningmessage
shouldbeplacedclearlyinacellinthesheet.
d. ThissheetshouldbeprinterfriendlywithappropriateHeadersandFooters.

5. CreateasheetcalledStudentdataanalysisonthissheetyouwillhave:
a. TheabilitytoselectastudentIDfromalist
b. ThenameofthestudentwillshowupafterchoosingtheID
c. Cellswheretheinstructorcanenterthefollowinginformation:
i. Creditsneededtograduate
ii. Creditscompletedsofar
iii. Numberofcurrentcoursesregistered
d. Acellthatshowsthesemestersremainingtograduate(keepinmindthedefaultcourse
creditsis3)
e. Usetheabovedatatopreparea1variable(withChart),2variable(withChart)and
scenarioanalysis(atleast3scenarios)byusingmeaningfuldataonthissheet.

6. CreateaMacrothatwillcleanupthesheetcreatedinstep5.Theareawhereyouhaveplaced
the1variableand2variableanalysiswillbehidden.Makesureyouhaveabuttonthatrunsthis
macro.Alsocreateamacrothatwillreflectthesetableswhenanewstudentinformationis
entered.

7. Createasheettoshowareportsummarizingeachsectionslettergrades.
a. ThisreportshouldshowaCountofhowmanystudentsscoredeachlettergradeineach
sectionandthetotalacrosssectionsforeachlettergrade.
b. CreateaRadarCharttovisualizetheinformationinstepa(oneChartpersection).

8. UseaPivotTabletoshowtheMinimum,Maximum,andAverageTotalGradeforeachsection.
CreateaPivotChartusingthisinformation.Useappropriateformatting(NumberFormattingand
properheadernames).
