BOY SCOUT TROOP 92 INVITES BOYS IN GRADES 6-8 TO AN INFORMATION AND

RECRUITING NIGHT ON FEBRUARY 9 AT7:00 P.M. IN DROWOTA HALL
Boy Scouts offers boys from ages 11-18 the opportunity to grow in mind, spirit and body while
becoming leaders in their community. Come visit with the troop on Recruiting Night for more
information on the programs and opportunities within the troop. Current 5th, 6th and 7th grade
boys are welcome to come! Games and activities will be provided, with information for the parents
on scouting and the monthly outings. The boy scout movement was established by Lord BadenPowell in 1907 to promote the development of youth leaders and to help boys achieve their full
potential. By focusing on outdoor-based learning, boys develop confidence and independence, as
well as learn a variety of outdoor and life skills. We seek to teach the boys how to be at home in the
woods as well as how to be good citizens and leaders. As a part of a boy-led troop they learn that
a scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave,
Clean and Reverent. You may contact the Scoutmaster, Scott Standard with questions by email:

Mission statement

Building a caring community for ALL youth that helps us connect with God, our true selves, & others.
WCC Youth Parents,
Thank you for continuing to trust us with your students each week. It has been amazing to
watch them grow up in the ways of Christ!
One of the initiatives we are working on this semester is to incorporate parents as Co
Youth Ministers alongside us. Many of you heard Walter Surdacki speak last fall on the
importance of parents, students, and ministers working together to help create a lifelong
foundation of faith for each student.
Along those lines, we are offering special opportunities for you to connect with your middle
and high school students. Each week during 11:00 Sunday School, parents are invited to join
the youth group for our February series In the Image Of: Family & Faith to discuss what it
means to be part of a family (both a biological family and a church family).
Every Sunday in the series will have a different style as follows:
February 8 - joint lesson with parents and student inroundtablediscussions talking about images of family from the Bible. Youth sponsors are invited to
the discussion as well - this is a great time to meet the volunteers working with your student each week.
February 15 - Q&A between parents and students.
February 22 - teacher switch day - Pathways Class taught by members of the youth group.
We hope you can join us for this special opportunity this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. starting in the Boardroom. Please dont hesitate to reach out with any
questions in the mean time.
Blessings,
Trey

New Series: All in the Family

Sermon Title: All in the Family

Scripture: Matthew 12:46-50
Description: Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? According to Jesus, anyone
who does Gods will is considered part of his family. The church is like one big messy family:
sometimes we argue, sometimes we disagree, sometimes we let each other down - but at
the end of the day, unconditional love (as in the Prodigal Son) is what holds us all together
as the family of God.
