INTRODUCTION
PUBLIC RELATIONS:Meaning:
Public Relations are a planned and sustained activity to help an
institution create a social climate favorable for its growth. It
is based on the fundamental belief that the survival of any
enterprise, public or private depends today on the sensitive
response to changes in public opinion.
Public relations is the management of public opinion in order to
earn the good will and understanding of the public. The public for
a museum is not just its visitors but also the staff and volunteers,
members, government officials and potential sponsors.

Definition:
The International Public Relations Association defines Public
Relations as Public Relations is the art and social science of
analyzing trends, predicting their consequences, counseling
organization leaders and implementing planned programmes of

action which will serve both the organizations and the public
interest.
Public relation is a two way process. On the one hand it seeks to
interpret an organization to society while on the other it keeps the
organization informed about the expectation of the society.
Fundamentally public relation is a means by which an
organization improves its operating environment.
The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) claimed in 1988:
Public relations help an organization and its publics adapt
mutually to each other."[According to the PRSA, the essential
functions of public relations include research, planning,
communications dialogue and evaluation.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Statement of the Problem:

Research problem is the one which requires a researcher to find


out the best solution for the given problem that is to find out the
course of action, the action the objectives can be obtained
optimally in the context of a given environment.
The need of the study is to know how the public relation officers
are able to done there responsabilities and the suitable
techniques used by them
Objectives of study:
The objectives of the research study are as follows:Research design:
Research design is the arrangement for condition for data
collection and analysis of data in a manner that aims to combined
relevance to research purpose with economy in procedure.
A Research design is a master plan or model for the conduct of
formal investigation. It is blue print that it is fallowed in
completing study. The research conducted by me is a descriptive
Research. It utilizes both primary and secondary data.
Primary Data: Primary data is obtained through a survey. Such
data is first hand and original in nature. There are several
methods used for collecting primary data. Particularly in survey,
the important one are interview, questionnaire, telephone
survey etc. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages.
Secondary Data: The Secondary data is used to study
theoretical background of managing competencies and training
needs with the help of earlier research study made by the others.
It is also used to know merits and demerits, limitations and
present usage of technology by farmers with the help of available
data. The secondary data were collected from Reputed Journals
and Magazines, Newspapers, Articles, Internet Websites and
Archives.
Sampling Size:

A sample size is the total number of respondents in the study. My


sample size for the study is 50.
Sampling Unit:
Sangrur & Barnala.
Sampling Techniques:
In this research purposive sampling method has been used for the
purpose of data collection. It is not possible to identify the definite
population; therefore a random sample is not possible.
Research Instruments:
Research instrument is that with the help of which we collect the
data from respondents. The questionnaire is the research
instrument in this project. The questionnaire consists of open
ended, close ended questions and different scales.
Tools Of Analysis:
The data collected for the study is tabulated and analysed by
using various mathematical and statistical tools like pie charts,
graphs, weighted mean.
