Dr.

Hayes Wicker, Senior Pastor

Introducing Troy Maragos!
I am one who does not like to wait. My prayer for patience
is represented by a little statue that pictures a funny-looking
little guy with the words, I want patience, and I want it
right now! Ron Dunn was right waiting time is not wasted
time. Also, good things come for those who wait. Most
importantly, since Gods timing is not our time, we inherit
the land when we have committed our way to Him and
waited patiently upon Him (Psalm 37:5, 9).
Praise the Lord, this is the weekend when the church finally gets to meet Rev.
Troy Maragos, his wife Grace, and their little baby, Mia. After a year and half
of prayerful searching, we present him in view of a call this weekend as Pastor
of College/20s young adults. He has been serving for seven years at the
Harvest Bible Chapel in greater Chicago under well-known pastor, Dr. James
MacDonald. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison with
a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a Master of Ministry degree from
Moody Theological Seminary.
Troy is one of two lead pastors for their largest satellite campus. He has
extensive experience working with teenage students, as well as university
age young adults, and those in the workforce. He has been responsible for
shepherding hundreds of people, working with all kinds of logistic issues and
ministry challenges.
Troy has a contagious joy and an enthusiastic smile that lights up a room. Grace
is a vital partner in his ministry and has extensive professional experience in
banking, having worked at a high level position in downtown Chicago for a
number of years. Troys zeal and fun-loving spirit was expressed when he
served as Bucky, the Wisconsin mascot, during his college days.
We have long felt that this area has been needing pastoral leadership, though
dedicated lay people have served for years and had a great impact on our
students and young adults. However, thousands of young singles who work
in the trades and in the professional fields have moved to southwest Florida.
Florida Gulf Coast University has achieved national recognition and is rapidly
growing. It is time to raise our vision and presence on that campus, as well as
to win and disciple the unique mission field of those in the workforce. We will
be voting by ballot this weekend as you hear Troys testimony in each service.
The wait is over!
*There is a guest reception in the Commons following the Saturday night and
Sunday morning 11:00am worship services. Pastor would love to meet you!

Welcome Troy Maragos, Wife Grace, and Baby Mia
