Ayesha started running from one end of a straight road at 0500 hrs.

Bhumika, sta
nding at the other end of the road, started running towards Ayesha at 0600 hrs a
nd met Ayesha for the first time at point P on the road. They continued running
till they reached the opposite ends. Immediately after reaching their respective
ends, they turned back towards their starting points and coincidently met again
at the same point P. If they met for the first time at 0700 hrs, then what was
the ratio of the speed of Ayesha to that of Bhumika?
A boy goes from his house to his school daily by a motorbike. He drives the moto
rbike at three different speeds a , 2.5a and 4a km/hr for three different durations dur
ing the journey. He definitely knows the time intervals for which he should driv
e his motorbike at each of these speeds so as to reach the school on time.
On one particular day he starts 20 minutes late from his house and hence the ext
ra time for which he drives his motorbike at 2.5a km/hr is 6 minutes. Find the ext
ra time for which he drives at 4a km/hr to reach the school on time.

70 cows can graze on a field for 24 days and 30 cows can graze on the same field
for 60 days. Some grass is already there and grass grows at a fixed rate. How m
any cows can graze on the field for 96 days?

Answer by TG: Let the length of the grass already present be L, rate at which gr
ass grows per day be G, and the rate at which a single cow eats the grass per da
y be C.

70 cows will eat 70 24 C of the grass. In 24 days, additional grass that will gr
ow will be 24G.
L + 24G = 70 24 C
Similarly,
L + 60G = 60 30 C
Subtracting the first equation from the second we get 36G = 120C or 3G = 10C. Ke
eping the equation of G in equation 1 we get
L + 80C = 1680C ==> L 1600C
Let N cows eat the field in 96 days,
Therefore, L + 96G = N 96 C ==> 1600C + 320C = N 96 C
==> N = 20 Cows.

X and Y are on the opposite ends of a straight road. There is a bumper P on the
road such that its distance from point X
is twofifths
of the length of XY. Biker 'A' starts from Y and when he has covered onethird
of the length XY, Biker 'B' and
Biker 'C' start towards 'A' from Y and X respectively. The total time taken by '
A' to reach bumper P is the same as the time
taken by 'B' to reach the point where 'A' was, when 'B' had started.
Now, 'A' crosses the bumper P to meet 'C' at a point whose distance from 'B' is
equal to onethird
of the total distance
covered by 'A' by then.
12. The speed of A to that of B are in the ratio
(1) 1 : 5 (2) 2 : 3 (3) 4 : 5 (4) 1 : 3
13. Total fraction of XY covered by A till he meets C is
(1) 3/4 (2) 18/25 (3) 5/7 (4) 23/35
1.Two cars A & B drive straight towards point P with speeds a & b respectively.A
t the start A,B & P form an equilateral triangle.After some time A& B move to ne
w positions,B covers 80 miles & ABP becomes a right triangle.At moment when A ar
rives at P ,B is 120 miles from P .What is the distance between A& B in the begi
nning.

Please explain the solution in detail if possible.
