While at Belmont Asia my daily duties were inspection of hammer union low
pressure & high pressure pipes by magnetic particle inspection (MPI),
thickness gauging and hydrostatic testing using procedures ASTM E-709,
ASTM- E-797 and ASTM E-165. I inspected surge tanks, compressors, cement
heads, wedges and tubular running service (TRS) Equipment. Took load tests
of lifting equipment by following Det Norske Veritas (DNV) protocols. For
example, some of the equipment was BS-EN-12079-3 lifting pad eyes,
shackles, slings, etc.
I was tasked to implement safety rules and regulations at the site and to
monitor the safety precautions taken. Also, I monitored the entire site and
the work force that were present. I reported daily to the project manager and
equipment supervisor. I was also tasked with dealing with customers and our
clients on a day-to-day basis to make sure their needs were being filled. I
worked with a vast variety of clientele while at Belmont Asia. Some of them
were: Weatherford, Halliburton, Oil Service Base and Schlumberger to name
a few. I got to know the needs and wants of my clientele and was able to
bring in additional projects to work on for Belmont Asia.

At Global NDT & Engineering services I used a wide variety of methods for
testing. Some of them were. I used ultrasound methods to measure thickness
and to inspect, I also did dye penetrant testing, radiographic testing and I
witnessed and supervised hydrostatic testing. I was tasked to review and
maintain reports for records so I was able to gain first-hand knowledge on
how reports should be properly recorded and kept. I also helped with
shutdown activities for different refineries throughout Pakistan.
