During the Grundtvig project meeting held in Ploiesti, Romania, teachers and
students from Italy, Spain and Turkey visited their Romanian partner institution
and they all worked together taking part in the activities organised. In the first
day they visited the school where the host students presented a complex show
with traditional music and dances. Next day they went into a trip to Bucharest,
the capital city of Romania, where they visited the Parliament which is the
second biggest administrative building in the world. After that they went to the
mountain where they visited the Draculas castle and took part in the annual fair
organised by Transylvanian shepherds in autumn. There, teachers and students
ate traditional food and listened to traditional music while communicating with
people around and exchanging opinions about their cultures and traditions. On
Monday, back to school, European teachers held English lessons with the
Romanian and guest students and in the afternoon all students involved in the
project worked in teams and created PPT materials about the culture and
traditions in their own countries, then they delivered the presentations in front of
a large audience. The next day they went to the mountains, took the cable car
to 2,300 m high and hiked on the Bucegi plateau to the Cross from Caraiman
and back. Before going home, they visited also the Ialomicioara cave, which is
one of the most spectacular caves from my country. Next day everybody visited
the Slanic salt mine where they could admire the 54 m-high cave cut by people
in the salt mountain. Back to school students were involved in practical activities
and, among other things, they prepared different types of pizza specific to their
countries and learned how to make cocktails from fruit juices with different
densities. At the closing ceremony of the project meeting, the guest teachers
and students received certificates of attendance and had the farewell dinner
together. It was one of the greatest experiences they have ever had.
