There is an acknowledged need in the fire prevention industry for smoke

management systems applicable to residential and domestic properties. To
address this need, Ash Fire Management has developed and patented
Naturvent, a smoke and heat ventilation system specifically aimed at the
residential and domestic housing market to be affordable in terms of both
installation and maintenance.
Naturvent is the first engineered solution for protecting lives against the
threat of fire and the lethal, toxic smoke a fire produces. Naturvent is new,
the first smoke, heat and exhaust ventilation system developed for domestic
residential homes. Fully patent protected, it is an innovative adaption of
proven technology that has for years been the standard installation in larger,
commercial premises.
Tests have proven that by removing these noxious gases survivability within
the home is increased by over eighteen minutes whilst limiting significantly
damage to the interior and structure of a house. Building Research
Establishment (BRE) report no 131967 was validated by the Fire Safety
Engineering Group (FSEG) in mid-2013 and approved the Naturvent product
for market release.

A Naturvent system provides the following benefits;

Effective compliance with the Fire Regulations within Approved
Document B(ADB).
The FSEG report and LABC acceptance will permit the design of
open plan living by architects and designers.
This latter point is particularly relevant in the light of the recent
proposal by DCLG for the introduction of a minimum space standard
for new build homes that would be used by all Local Authorities.
NATURVENT THE PRODUCT
The Naturvent system uses state-of-the-art aspirating detectors to sense an
early stage fire. This avoids the system activating due to burning toast, for
example. If a fire is detected, the sensors send a message to the fire panel.
This fire panel then instantly does 5 things simultaneously;
It releases the hatches to create the vent for the smoke
It starts the cyclonic fan within the hatch to start the ventilation of the
smoke and gases
It isolates the gas supply to the building
It raises the alarm 2 x 85 decibel sounders
It notifies the emergency services and up to 4 other people that it has been
activated

In the unfortunate case that a fire breaks out, discrete ventilation shaft
installed in the highest point of any building will extract the deadly
smoke and toxic fumes that an early stage fire produces.
The Naturvent system will be on guard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
