HEALING MINISTRY
During Jesus ministry he cured many who were sick
with various diseases, and he drove out many demons. This
is the case in todays Gospel. Jesus fulfills the vision of Psalm
147: He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their
wounds.
Jesus knew, however, that he couldnt possibly heal all
the illness in the world. No matter how many people he
cured or how many hours he ministered, there always would
be more suffering people like Job who craved his healing
touch. His primary mission was not to rid the world of all
suffering. His purpose was to preach the coming of the
reign of God that heals, yes, but ultimately transcends and
transforms earthly suffering. With Paul, Jesus could have
said, Woe to me if I do not preach that good news.

LENTEN PARISH MISSION AT ST. ALBERTS

Our English Parish Mission will be held this year

February 23-24-25 (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday)
at 7PM each evening.

We will concentrate nightly on a different Sacrament

from our Roman Catholic tradition - (Monday) the Anointing of the Sick, (Tuesday) the Sacrament of Reconciliation,
and (Wednesday) the Eucharist.
Father Marc Pasciak, the Pastor or St. Patricia
Church in Hickory Hills, will lead our parish mission sharing stories of healing (Mon), stories of forgiveness (Tues)
and stories of sustenance (Wed). He will also speak at all
of the English Mass liturgies over the weekend of February 21/22 in anticipation of the parish mission.
Father Marc is a Southside native (and an avid White
Sox fan) who has served as an associate pastor in the parishes of St. Turibius, St. Camillus, and Most Holy Redeemer (Evergreen Park) and as pastor at St. Symphorosa
in Clearing from 1991-2007 and at St. Pats since 2007. In
addition to these parochial assignments Father Marc has
taught at Quigley South and Brother Rice High Schools
and served as Dean for the Midway Cluster of parishes. He
wrote the column BREAKING OPEN THE WORD for The
Chicago New World for 13 years and is an engaging storyteller and homilist. He has a Doctor of Ministry Degree
from Mundelein Seminary and a Masters Degree from
DePaul University.

ROZSZERZY SERCE NA WSZYSTKICH
uzdrawia innych w Galilei. Naladowanie Jezusa wymaga od nas postawy
otwartoci wobec kadego.
W wiecie niejako rozoonym na czci i chorym na specjalizacj naucza
Benedykt XVI kapan winien pozosta czowiekiem caoci, czowiekiem, ktry
podtrzymuje czowieczestwo od wewntrz (...), tym kto ma by (...) wszystkim dla
wszystkich. Dobry Bg bowiem nie ogranicza si do jakiej jednej wybranej
kategorii osb, lecz sprawia, e soce wschodzi nad zymi i dobrymi (...), a deszcz
pomc zbliy si do Jezusa?
Przezwyciajmy wic nasze ograniczenia, w ktre wtaczaj nas przyzwyczajenia,
specjalizacje zawodowe, opinie, schematy kulturowe itp., by na podobiestwo
doskonaego naladowcy Chrystusa, w. Pawa, stawa si wszystkim dla wszystkich. Otwierajmy nasze
serca na nieskoczon mio Boga i rozszerzajmy je na innych, by ich pozyska dla Chrystusa. Niech
przynaglaj nas do tego otwarte dla wszystkich ramiona Chrystusa, ktry da si ukrzyowa za kadego bez
wyjtku. ks. Stanisaw Zarzycki pallotyn
