Voices of Butrint - Phase 2

Thanks to support from the Butrint Foundation in 2014, an oral history project was carried out in four villages surrounding Butrint. The main aim of the project was to extend
the historical knowledge of the site through memories of people living near the site and
provide to the Butrint Foundation an oral and historical archive, which, in the longer
term could be used to provide resources for local schools and visitors to the site.
The narrative and interviews produced from the 2014 project will be simplified during
the second stage following conversations and research with schools in the area, establishing their needs and involvement in the process
Local stories and memories will engage children in the storytelling process making
opportunities for them to explore their own meanings and connections to the stories,
learning how history is created and encouraging a sense of identity connected to their
present world.
Working with local teachers, this second stage will use the material gathered in imaginative ways, to help build stronger relationships between Butrint and the local communities that surround it.

Industrial heritage presentations

During January 2015, the Centre for Albanian Cultural Heritage was engaged in presenting a numerous open lectures on Albanian industrial heritage. The first lecture was
held at the Marin Barleti University with subject Industrial heritage in Albania and
the global context while the second open forum was held at the Epoka University with
subject Albanian industrial heritage - preserving through recording.
Audiences welcomed both lectures, and at the end, there were many discussions about
the future of the countrys industrial heritage.

Triangular fortress project

In January 2015, Ilir Parangoni presented research results of the triangular fortress
project at the scientific session of the Albanian Institute of Archaeology for 2014. The
presentation preceded the article that will be published in the next issue of Candavia
