Subunits

Flexi Multiradio 10 BTS Baseband (FSMF, FBBA) consists of certain amount of processing subunits
Subunit can provide processing of:

1. CCCH processing
2. HSDPA processing resources (HSDPA scheduler)
3. HSUPA processing resources (HSUPA users and throughput).
4. R99 processing resources (Rel99 CE)

System Module rel.3 LCG configuration

System Module rel.3 might be commissioned to one out of the four configurations:

Rel99 only

Small HSPA configuration

Support of UMTS Rel.99 services, no support for HSPA

Providing HSPA processing up to 6 HSPA cells (one HSDPA and HSUPA scheduler)

Normal HSPA configuration

Providing HSPA processing up to12 HSPA cells (two HSDPA and one HSUPA scheduler)

The configuration is commissioned per Local Cell Group (LCG)

Note that LCG commissioning is optional. By

HSUPA and HSDPA licenses

18

Nokia Siemens Networks 2011

HSUPA BTS Processing Set license

The number of HSUPA BTS Processing Sets needed to meet the requirement for certain number of users and certain combined L1
throughput should be calculated according to formula below:
Required number of HSUPA BTS Processing Sets =
max ( Roundup ( Number_of_HSUPA_users / 24) ; Roundup(HSUPA_throughput / 5,8) )
Where:
Number_of_HSUPA_users Number of HSUPA users (data + voice)
HSUPA_throughput HSUPA data users throughput [Mbps]
