Cars with Twin Clutch Transmissions need to make sure lower cold side boost tube had clearance around plastic round plug at front of transmission.
If clearance is not had, this can result in damage to the plastic housing.
All rubber connections on the EVO X are very tight and we highly recommend using a bent awl and some spray lube.
Questions? Please contact us prior to proceeding with installation or use.

EVO X Boost Tube Instructions:

1)
2)

Prepare to remove front bumper cover from car to allow access to all boost tubes. Locate and remove Air box (front half with scoop only) remove
black plastic cover on top of bumper and under intake. NOTE Keep track of all the plastic fasteners removed as there are different styles of them
through out the installation.
With black plastic cover removed, locate (4) 10mm bolts securing upper part of bumper to chassis. Remove (1) 10mm screw and one plastic fastener
located behind bumper as shown in picture below. NOTE: Take note of electrical plug located under air temp sensor. This will need to be unplugged
as bumper is being removed.

3)
4)
5)

Locate and remove (2) 10mm black bolts on front of bump toward the left and right of intercooler opening.
Locate and remove all plastic fasteners in left and right wheel wells. Make sure and remove 10mm headed bolt that is located where plastic bumper
and steel fender meet.
Under car locate and remove only the plastic fasteners around the outer edge of bumper. Also remove all 10mm bolts on this same outer perimeter.
When you are done removing fittings, the lower splashguard will hang down slightly and look like the picture below.

6) Bumper is now ready for removal. Grab plastic bumper where it meets the sheetmetal fender and pull straight out. This will unsnap bumper from
fender. Once unsnapped on both sides, bumper is being held on by 2 large clips located behind bumper. Simply pull bumper straight forward to
unsnap. During this step it helps to have a second set of hands to catch bumper and/or unplug remaining electrical connector.
7) With bumper removed, proceed to remove upper OEM boost tubes and intercooler coupler. Simply loosen clamps and work connections back and
forth to free from car. The lower hotside (boost tube that goes from engine bay down to intercooler) has (2) 12mm bolts that need to be removed.
8) Locate throttle body and remove clamp securing OEM rubber hose. Wiggle hose around or use some spray lube and a bent awl to free it up. Note:
Optionally you can remove this hose from OEM boost tube as this will aid in removing lower boost tube from car in future steps.
9) Locate blow off valve hose (long small diameter rubber hose) and remove clamp from lower connection as well as connection at blow off valve, and
remove hose from car.
10) Locate cold side boost tube on left side of car and remove (3) 12mm bolts securing it to chassis. One is located on side of chassis as pictured below,
one is located inside lower chassis behind radiator and last one is located next to air box as shown below. If car has Twin Clutch Transmission,
remove plastic diverter for tranny cooler, this is held on by (3) plastic fasteners.

Remove intercooler coupler from intercooler and leave tight on boost tube.
With bolts removed and rubber connection at throttle body removed, you can pull boost tube out bottom of car. This can be a tight area and
removing some of the plastic fasteners for the splashguard can aid in adding room for removal.
With boost tubes removed, install supplied 2.5 straight couplers to each side of intercooler, and install 288 size T-bolt Clamps. At this time tighten
couplers. These can be adjusted at a later date.
Install supplied 1.75-2.5 reducer coupler to turbo outlet and install supplied 225 T-bolt Clamp on small connection and 288 clamp on larger
connection. Fully tighten 225 clamp, but leave 288 clamp loose for now.
Remove small rubber grommets and steel sleeves from stock hot side boost tube that connects to upper intercooler connection. Install these into
PERRIN hot side lower boost tube same as was removed from stock pipe. Install hot side lower tube into coupler on intercooler and install (2) 12mm
bolts through grommets and into chassis. Tighten hose clamp on intercooler coupler at this time.

16)
17)
18)
19)

Install supplied 2.5 hump hose onto hot side lower boost tube making sure to put 288 size T-bolt clamp behind bulge. Tighten clamp down ensuring
that clamp is behind bead on tube and silicone coupler is fully under clamp. Add additional sized 288 T-bolt clamp to open end of coupler.
Install rear hot side intercooler pipe into coupler on turbo and into hump hose installed in step above. Leave clamps loose at this time.
Install supplied silicone J hose to rear hot side boost tube and to blow off valve making sure to install supplied 175 T-bolt clamps to each end.
Adjust rear hot side boost tube and blow off valve hose to line up properly and clear necessary parts of engine. Tight remaining T-bolt clamps.

20) Install supplied 2.75 straight coupler to throttle body and install (2) 312 T-bolt clamps. Tighten clamp at throttle body completely.

21) Install cold side lower 2.75 piping from throttle body to intercooler. Take care in feeding this through and around chassis. This can be a tight fit at
the air box and air box bracket, take care in adjusting such that there is good clearance. NOTE: For twin clutch tranny cars, take care in making sure
there is clearance at the round plastic plug on the front of the transmission.
22) After boost tube is adjusted, tighten hose clamps. Test for clearance by shaking boost tube back and forth to simulate engine movement.
23) Proceed with re-installing bumper, upper plastic radiator cover, lower splashguard and intake system.
24) Double check all clamps are tight and start engine. If engine runs ok take car for test drive. If car runs poorly make sure all clamps and silicone
couplers are connected and seal.
