in
the
installation

proper
operation

Mitsubishi
Body
and
Engine
systems.

Cars
with
Twin
Clutch
Transmissions
need
to
make
sure
lower
cold
side
boost
tube
had
clearance
around
plastic
round
plug
at
front
of
transmission.
If
clearance
is
not
had,
this
can
result
in
damage
to
the
plastic
housing.
All
rubber
connections
on
the
EVO
X
are
very
tight
and
we
highly
recommend
using
a
bent
awl
and
some
spray
lube.

proceeding
with
installation
or

Prepare
to
remove
front
bumper
cover
from
car
to
allow
access
to
all
boost
tubes.
Locate
and
remove
Air
box
(front
half
with
scoop
only)
remove
black
plastic
cover
on
top
of
bumper
and
under
intake.
NOTE
Keep
track
of
all
the
plastic
fasteners
removed
as
there
are
different
styles
of
them
through
out
the
installation.
With
black
plastic
cover
removed,
locate
(4)
10mm
bolts
securing
upper
part
of
bumper
to
chassis.
Remove
(1)
10mm
screw
and
one
plastic
fastener
located
behind
bumper
as
shown
in
picture
below.
NOTE:
Take
note
of
electrical
plug
located
under
air
temp
sensor.
This
will
need
to
be
unplugged
as
bumper
is
being
removed.

Locate
and
remove
(2)
10mm
black
bolts
on
front
of
bump
toward
the
left
and
right
of
intercooler
opening.
Locate
and
remove
all
plastic
fasteners
in
left
and
right
wheel
wells.
Make
sure
and
remove
10mm
headed
bolt
that
is
located
where
plastic
bumper
and
steel
fender
meet.
Under
car
locate
and
remove
only
the
plastic
fasteners
around
the
outer
edge
of
bumper.
Also
remove
all
10mm
bolts
on
this
same
outer
perimeter.
When
you
are
done
removing
fittings,
the
lower
splashguard
will
hang
down
slightly
and
look
like
the
picture
below.
6) Bumper
is
now
ready
for
removal.
Grab
plastic
bumper
where
it
meets
the
sheetmetal
fender
and
pull
straight
out.
This
will
unsnap
bumper
from
fender.
Once
unsnapped
on
both
sides,
bumper
is
being
held
on
by
2
large
clips
located
behind
bumper.
Simply
pull
bumper
straight
forward
to
unsnap.
During
this
step
it
helps
to
have
a
second
set
of
hands
to
catch
bumper
and/or
unplug
remaining
electrical
connector.
7) With
bumper
removed,
proceed
to
remove
upper
OEM
boost
tubes
and
intercooler
coupler.
Simply
loosen
clamps
and
work
connections
back
and
forth
to
free
from
car.
The
lower
hotside
(boost
tube
that
goes
from
engine
bay
down
to
intercooler)
has
(2)
12mm
bolts
that
need
to
be
removed.
8) Locate
throttle
body
and
remove
clamp
securing
OEM
rubber
hose.
Wiggle
hose
around
or
use
some
spray
lube
and
a
bent
awl
to
free
it
up.
Note:
Optionally
you
can
remove
this
hose
from
OEM
boost
tube
as
this
will
aid
in
removing
lower
boost
tube
from
car
in
future
steps.
9) Locate
blow
off
valve
hose
(long
small
diameter
rubber
hose)
and
remove
clamp
from
lower
connection
as
well
as
connection
at
blow
off
valve,
and
remove
hose
from
car.
10) Locate
cold
side
boost
tube
on
left
side
of
car
and
remove
(3)
12mm
bolts
securing
it
to
chassis.
One
is
located
on
side
of
chassis
as
pictured
below,
one
is
located
inside
lower
chassis
behind
radiator
and
last
one
is
located
next
to
air
box
as
shown
below.
If
car
has
Twin
Clutch
Transmission,
remove
plastic
diverter
for
tranny
cooler,
this
is
held
on
by
(3)
plastic
fasteners.

Remove
intercooler
coupler
from
intercooler
and
leave
tight
on
boost
tube.
With
bolts
removed
and
rubber
connection
at
throttle
body
removed,
you
can
pull
boost
tube
out
bottom
of
car.
This
can
be
a
tight
area
and
removing
some
of
the
plastic
fasteners
for
the
splashguard
can
aid
in
adding
room
for
removal.
With
boost
tubes
removed,
install
supplied
2.5
straight
couplers
to
each
side
of
intercooler,
and
install
288
size
T-bolt
Clamps.
At
this
time
tighten
couplers.
These
can
be
adjusted
at
a
later
date.
Install
supplied
1.75-2.5
reducer
coupler
to
turbo
outlet
and
install
supplied
225
T-bolt
Clamp
on
small
connection
and
288
clamp
on
larger
connection.
Fully
tighten
225
clamp,
but
leave
288
clamp
loose
for
now.
Remove
small
rubber
grommets
and
steel
sleeves
from
stock
hot
side
boost
tube
that
connects
to
upper
intercooler
connection.
Install
these
into
PERRIN
hot
side
lower
boost
tube
same
as
was
removed
from
stock
pipe.
Install
hot
side
lower
tube
into
coupler
on
intercooler
and
install
(2)
12mm
bolts
through
grommets
and
into
chassis.
Tighten
hose
clamp
on
intercooler
coupler
at
this
time.

Install
supplied
2.5
hump
hose
onto
hot
side
lower
boost
tube
making
sure
to
put
288
size
T-bolt
clamp
behind
bulge.
Tighten
clamp
down
ensuring
that
clamp
is
behind
bead
on
tube
and
silicone
coupler
is
fully
under
clamp.
Add
additional
sized
288
T-bolt
clamp
to
open
end
of
coupler.
Install
rear
hot
side
intercooler
pipe
into
coupler
on
turbo
and
into
hump
hose
installed
in
step
above.
Leave
clamps
loose
at
this
time.
Install
supplied
silicone
J
hose
to
rear
hot
side
boost
tube
and
to
blow
off
valve
making
sure
to
install
supplied
175
T-bolt
clamps
to
each
end.
Adjust
rear
hot
side
boost
tube
and
blow
off
valve
hose
to
line
up
properly
and
clear
necessary
parts
of
engine.
Tight
remaining
T-bolt
clamps.
20) Install
supplied
2.75
straight
coupler
to
throttle
body
and
install
(2)
312
T-bolt
clamps.
Tighten
clamp
at
throttle
body
completely.
21) Install
cold
side
lower
2.75
piping
from
throttle
body
to
intercooler.
Take
care
in
feeding
this
through
and
around
chassis.
This
can
be
a
tight
fit
at
the
air
box
and
air
box
bracket,
take
care
in
adjusting
such
that
there
is
good
clearance.
NOTE:
For
twin
clutch
tranny
cars,
take
care
in
making
sure
there
is
clearance
at
the
round
plastic
plug
on
the
front
of
the
transmission.
22) After
boost
tube
is
adjusted,
tighten
hose
clamps.
Test
for
clearance
by
shaking
boost
tube
back
and
forth
to
simulate
engine
movement.
23) Proceed
with
re-installing
bumper,
upper
plastic
radiator
cover,
lower
splashguard
and
intake
system.
24) Double
check
all
clamps
are
tight
and
start
engine.
If
engine
runs
ok
take
car
for
test
drive.
If
car
runs
poorly
make
sure
all
clamps
and
silicone
couplers
are
connected
and
seal.
