Role Description
Process Development Technologist
Purpose and Scope:
The incumbent
Will serve as a member of the Process Development team that will support OSP, ETP and SR operating groups.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, execute and report laboratory experiments in support of the plant operations.
Trouble-shoot plant operations problems.
Evaluate proposed process modifications.
Evaluate new raw material sources.
Optimize process.
Develop processes to minimize waste (reuse, etc.).
Work with the associated Development Chemist to identify process improvement opportunities.
Assist the operations team in the development and implementation on process modifications.
Assist the associated Chemist and Process Engineers in the development and implementation of operating
procedures in accordance with cGMPs and GLPs.
Be a participant in Global product development teams as necessary.
Provide direct manufacturing support as required during product startups and process modifications.
Support Process Validation.
Ensure departments cGMP, GLP and Safety performance.
Implement new process technologies.
Develop laboratory programs with the Development Chemist and Production Engineers to support process
modifications to eliminate bottlenecks in the production process.
Develop and implement novel process measurement and control technologies with the manufacturing departments.
Assist the Production Engineers in troubleshooting all manufacturing problems and upsets.
Work with the Development Chemist and Quality Control to develop the necessary documentation in support of any
production changes or abnormal process operations to assure that all product meets all Pfizer and regulatory quality
standards.
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies and perform analytical equipment troubleshooting standards.

Educational Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines.
Experience Required:
1-5 years relevant experience
