1- Observe et encadre dans les deux noncs le mot qui porte la marque du temps. Ecris la fonction

Les deux noncs prcdents ne sont pas quivalents. On ne sintresse pas la mme chose dans la
phrase active et dans la phrase passive. Lis les noncs suivants :
Rosa Parks was fined and jailed by the police .
Following the bus boycott, racial segregation on buses was declared unconstitutional by the
Supreme Court in 1956.
Est-ce que lon sintresse la police ou la jeune passagre noire ? A l amendement historique adopt cette
anne l ou ceux qui ont particip au vote ?

2- Lusage du passif est plus frquent en anglais quen franais lorsquon ne veut pas ou que lon ne peut pas
nommer lagent. Traduis les phrases suivantes :

Rosa Parks Day is celebrated on February 4 or December 1 in honour of the Civil Rights leader .
....
Que remarques-tu ? .
On ne peut pas mettre toutes les phrases au passif et rciproquement.
Le DOUBLE PASSIF
Langlais possde certains verbes qui prennent deux complments dobjets directs. Ces verbes anglais
peuvent se construire avec ou sans prposition.

Observe les noncs que tu as pu lire ou entendre dans le corpus de la squence sur la condition des noirs dans
les tats du sud.
Rcris les dans le tableau ci-dessous selon la notion quils expriment :
Segregationists believe that people of different races should be kept apart.
In the Southern States white children and black children were not allowed to attend the same schools.
All citizens were granted the right to vote by the 15 th Amendment ratified in 1870.
They were banned from attending College for instance.
Black people were only allowed to use amenities for black people. They were forced to use separate water
fountains. They were prohibited to ride in the front of a bus.
Black people were denied education.
Blacks were compelled to do second-class jobs .
Black people were deprived of their rights by the Jim Crow Laws .
Black people were forbidden to show affection toward one another in public , especially kissing.
If a black person rode in a car driven by a white person, it was required for the black person to sit in the black seat.
