Exod. 7:5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch
forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

John 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested
forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Matt. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is
the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Lord Almighty and Eternal God:

The lost people I know are so hard to teach and reach. Egypt does not
know you. That is why they set up their idols and put them in my face. Yet your
aim is to break the pride of our hearts whether we want you to or not.
How many times do I watch your judgment thunder over their heads,
darken their skies, destroy their harvests, and even slay their children. Only then
do they approach me or some other Christian with a humility that shows they do
discern your power, because they see it in my life.
Lord, I know you can do things to bring skeptics to their knees. Help me
not be dismayed by the unbelieving taunts of the lost until you have dealt with
them. You are able to take care of me, just like you take care of your own name.
The deliverance of your people has always been a potent means for making
Egypt know you are the only true God. No Israelite died in any of the ten
plagues. Not one of your children drowned in the Red Sea. Use my own
salvationand my joy in itas a tool to make __________ and __________,
and the most obstinate of your enemies acknowledge you as God. They may not
accept your Lordship, but at least they will be confronted with your truth.
Lord, use me! In high tide and at low tide, use me. Hurricane or earthquake,
use me. Make your convicting power go forth from your Holy Spirit as I witness
to people this week. Bless those who are witnessing for you in our city and
abroad. Light the gospel torch until we make a name in our community for Jesus
as our Lord and Savior! Do this in spite of our faults, because you know how
Jesus is worthy. We ask this in his holy name and for your sake. Amen.

Glorious Lord and Master:

This miracle records conclusive proof that the mother of Jesus cannot
intercede for me with her son. I do not come to you through Mary or the saints; I
only come to you through the Spirit. I love you because you didnt stop at making
bread from heaven, but you went further and made wine for man. You have
given me luxuries in this life you did not even enjoy yourself.
Moses began his work in Egypt with a miracle of judgment, turning water
into blood. But Lord you have overcome the serpent with the rod of scripture,
and turned my deep waters into wine. You never work plagues on me, even if it
looks like you do. When you use the scalpel, you are always healing my diseases.
Marriage was the last relic of Paradise left on this planet, and you hurried to
honor it with your very first miracle. Since you came to that wedding and blessed
it with your presence, I claim my own family to be under your care. In many ways
my homeincluding my children and my spouseraise my life from water into
wine. In other ways, I have providential needs in my home (maybe among my
children and with my spouse). They make opportunities for Jesus to come with
miracles of love. Let me find, like the servants at the wedding feast, that it is
good to run short so I can be driven to Jesus by my need. If I had no need I
would not pray and Christ would not come.
Huge empty waterpots are in front of me. My soul is sometimes as full of
sadness as those pots were with waterto the brim. Jesus, by your sweet will,
you can turn all the water into wine. Do it to manifest your glory and so cause
others to believe. Amen.

Father in Heaven:
My heart wants to engage you in prayer. But before I speak, my mind needs
to prepare. As I prepare my mind for prayer, I look back on yesterday. I
remember all my foolish faults, mistakes and sins, and I am grieved. I recognize I
am as weak today as I was yesterday. Lord, I feel like if temptation attacks me I
will surely fall into sinthe same sinas I did in the past.
Help! I gathered experience from yesterday, but Lord I am still as weak as
water. The will to be holy is present with me, but how to perform that which is
good I find not (Rom. 7:18). At the same time, I am intensely revolted at my own
sins. I would rather die than offend you, God. Even sorrow would be a pleasure
if it kept me from the horror of treacherously sinning against Christ.
I am afraid to go out of this room. Temptations await me in the family, at
my job, and on the way. I am constrained to pray. There are besetting sins, and
being aware of those, I cry to you for help against them! But a black thought
crosses my mind just now, and I do not know what this day will bring forth. I
cannot tell what loss I may have to suffer; I do not know what trouble I will
meet. My ship is on a sea of sunken rocks and quicksand.
Help me rise in revival to follow the course your providence plans for me.
Whatever happens is according to your will. I do not ask you to lead me away
from sorrow or trouble, since they may make me strong. But Lord, do not, I beg
you, lead me where I will be tempted. Make a straight path for my feet. If
temptation must come, then deliver me from evil. Do not let me stain my
garments; you have the power to uphold me! Do it for the glory of Jesus. Amen.

1 Cor. 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my
body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

I WAS sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,

Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more,
But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I.
All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him Ill cling
In His blessd presence live, ever His praises sing,
Love so mighty and so true, merits my souls best songs,
Faithful, loving service too, to Him belongs.
Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves,
He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves.
Hes the Master of the sea, billows His will obey,
He your Savior wants to be, be saved today.
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!
James Rowe, 1912

Zech. 1:20 And the LORD showed me four carpenters.

Oh Wait, Lord!
Zechariah saw four scary horns, pushing in every direction, crushing the
strongest and greatest of men. They were the horns which have scattered Israelthe
same powers that oppose the church today. There are four horns because we are
attacked from all sides. The prophet might well have given upbut all of a
sudden, four carpenters appear. What can they do? They are the men and
women God uses to break the horns in pieces.
God, give us carpenters this year! We know you will always find people for
the work, but the laborers are few, so we are told to pray and ask you for more to
work, building with us. You always bring leaders at the right time. We do not see
the carpenters at the beginning. All we see is the oppositionat work, at home,
everyplace we witness. Now let us look for the laborers among us!
Being a body we can always find enough fellowship if we look. If we need
four, we wont be short by three. We will find encouragement for all opposition.
We will always find the right fellowship in ministry. We do not need four
people with pens to write. We do not need four architects to draw up plans. We
need people testifying with us, doing the rough work. We need them helping us
build bridges, and span gaps in understanding with the gospel of grace.
We do not fret over our apparent weakness. Please Sir, just grow-up in
obscurity valiant soulwinners to shake our city. Maybe we are discipling some
right now. You are laying an ambush with the leaders of the next generation. At
your word they can rise to the call. Bring them along to get yourself the victory in
souls. This spring, make our church a rescue mission within a yard of Hell, and
bless us with just the workers we need to do all this to your glory! Amen.

Psa. 117:1 O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
Good God and Faithful Father:
Here is a song that is short in length but overflowing in spirit. It bursts us
beyond boundaries of ethnicity and nationality. The shortest chapter in the Bible,
and the center chapter in the Bible, and it is praise for all people!
The nations cannot join in your praise unless they share in your blessings.
So do not confine your mercy and grace to my land alone. Bless those nations
above our borders, and below our borders and beyond. Help us extend the
gospel through all we do, especially with our Living Faith Bible Institute, and
youth ministries, and other means of outreach.
You are so kind to me as your creature. You are so merciful to me as a
sinner. And you want me to exemplify and extend this lovingkindness wherever I
go. Help me flow the gospel to the entire human race as you use me to reach the
person next to me today!
Psa. 117:2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD
endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
In Christ Jesus you give us mercy mixed with kindness to the highest degree
possible. Surely I can join others across the globe in gratefully acknowledging and
praising you for it.
You promised that in Abrahams seed all families of the earth would be
blessed. While that awaits ultimate fulfillment at your Second Coming, certainly it
has still been fulfilled in a measure today. Lord I put my trust in you so all the
promises can be completely fulfilled in me. This should cause a constant shout, a
continual acclamation of adoration. For that reason this psalm, as short as it is,
concludes with another, Hallelujah to the King!

INTERCEDE WITH GOD INSTRUCT SAINTS

PROMPT PETITIONS KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
