Exod. 7:5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch
forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
John 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested
forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Matt. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is
the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Father in Heaven:
My heart wants to engage you in prayer. But before I speak, my mind needs
to prepare. As I prepare my mind for prayer, I look back on yesterday. I
remember all my foolish faults, mistakes and sins, and I am grieved. I recognize I
am as weak today as I was yesterday. Lord, I feel like if temptation attacks me I
will surely fall into sinthe same sinas I did in the past.
Help! I gathered experience from yesterday, but Lord I am still as weak as
water. The will to be holy is present with me, but how to perform that which is
good I find not (Rom. 7:18). At the same time, I am intensely revolted at my own
sins. I would rather die than offend you, God. Even sorrow would be a pleasure
if it kept me from the horror of treacherously sinning against Christ.
I am afraid to go out of this room. Temptations await me in the family, at
my job, and on the way. I am constrained to pray. There are besetting sins, and
being aware of those, I cry to you for help against them! But a black thought
crosses my mind just now, and I do not know what this day will bring forth. I
cannot tell what loss I may have to suffer; I do not know what trouble I will
meet. My ship is on a sea of sunken rocks and quicksand.
Help me rise in revival to follow the course your providence plans for me.
Whatever happens is according to your will. I do not ask you to lead me away
from sorrow or trouble, since they may make me strong. But Lord, do not, I beg
you, lead me where I will be tempted. Make a straight path for my feet. If
temptation must come, then deliver me from evil. Do not let me stain my
garments; you have the power to uphold me! Do it for the glory of Jesus. Amen.
1 Cor. 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my
body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Psa. 117:1 O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
Good God and Faithful Father:
Here is a song that is short in length but overflowing in spirit. It bursts us
beyond boundaries of ethnicity and nationality. The shortest chapter in the Bible,
and the center chapter in the Bible, and it is praise for all people!
The nations cannot join in your praise unless they share in your blessings.
So do not confine your mercy and grace to my land alone. Bless those nations
above our borders, and below our borders and beyond. Help us extend the
gospel through all we do, especially with our Living Faith Bible Institute, and
youth ministries, and other means of outreach.
You are so kind to me as your creature. You are so merciful to me as a
sinner. And you want me to exemplify and extend this lovingkindness wherever I
go. Help me flow the gospel to the entire human race as you use me to reach the
person next to me today!
Psa. 117:2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD
endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
In Christ Jesus you give us mercy mixed with kindness to the highest degree
possible. Surely I can join others across the globe in gratefully acknowledging and
praising you for it.
You promised that in Abrahams seed all families of the earth would be
blessed. While that awaits ultimate fulfillment at your Second Coming, certainly it
has still been fulfilled in a measure today. Lord I put my trust in you so all the
promises can be completely fulfilled in me. This should cause a constant shout, a
continual acclamation of adoration. For that reason this psalm, as short as it is,
concludes with another, Hallelujah to the King!

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan
Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
