MISSIONARY MOTIVATION MINISTRY

Dear brothers in Christ,

It has been my desire to be a missionary overseas ever since

I

can remember.

have asked God for the burden of lost people

and I hope God has been gracious enough to let me take the love
of Jesus to those who have never heard, good Lord willing I live

,to do that. My goal and aim is to reach the lost who have never V
had the chance to hear about the love of Jesus. God might want \

me to work full time on the missionfield or maybe recruiting or

maybe a little of both. I know the commandment that God gave

/
all of us which is to reach the unreached, not reach the reached./
Here are a few 6f my past experiances which have helped me get
prepared and ready for the job that God has for me to reach that
goal.

I served and was a part of a student internship for missions

during the summer of 1979 and 1980. We learned how to wittness
to the Hiro Chrishna people in the airports and tell them that
Jesus died for your sins and not Chrishna.
We also had a big
brother descipleship program where each one of the Twenty in
terns descipled a younger brother or sister of the sponsoring
church. We would spend time with them and get them interested
in Gods word and missions and show them how to wittness to thier

friends.
We also would go to the local hangout for the highschool
kids and wittness to them on the weekends.
It was really"great
experiance shareing Jesus on the streets.
We
by doing and not by hearing only.
One of the
really had a strong impression on me was when
. sixteen refugees from four parts of the world
into our home and found them jobs and a place

learned how to do
biggest things that
my family spon$red
and brought them
to live and get

them setteled in the United States.

We had four refugees from the country of Romania. All of these

refugees were single men.
A couple of these men clammed to be

communist.

I waserit suprised when it was all over because of

some of the things we had to go through.

We had three men come
in from the communist country, Ethiopia.
They escaped the country
by crossing a border to a noncommunist country and going to an

American embassy.

They asked for an asilem to come to America.

They could not come until someone said that they would sponser

them and get them setteled in the U.S.

The refugee center in
Washington D.C.*^ and in Dallas said that they could not find a
church to sponcer these men.
We felt that God was bringing the
missionfield to us so we obayed Gods command and sponcered these
sixteen men.
Wile we were taking care of these men from Romania
and Ethiopia, six or seven more men came in from Laos.

these men spoke a bit of English.

We really had a time but

with the Lords help we found a place to stay and got them set
tled in. Some of them stayed with there relatives in other parts
of the country.
We found them jobs, tought them how to drive,
tought them English, fed them, clothed them, found them homes,
and got them setteled in the United States and tought them to
love Jesus.
Over half of the Sixteen refugees are now Christains
and have converted their friends and relatives. Working with

^those people of another culter and country have helped me know

what it is like on the missionfield. I feel that I have gone through
19 years of Bible College.

God was my teacher and he used men

like my dad and ether people like him.

Last year I went to Fremont California and went to study how

. to memorize half of the New Testament under Jerry Lucas Memory

Ministries. Jerry taught us to memorize rooms and the furniture
in those rooms and associate them with scritpure of the New Test
ament.

I really learned a lot just being away from home.

It

was hard work but i t was worth i t .

After I got back from California, I went with my brother in law,

Peter Laughren to the Fiji Islands.

We spent ajnozith there doing

some evangelistic work with the Christains there on the island.

We taught in Bible studies and got to speak at a small Bible

College.
A man named Sami is now attending school at St Louis

Bible College with his family. Sami plans to go back to the

Fiji Islands and teach and preach after he is finished with his
schooling.
60% of the Fiji population are Indian.
Therefore
there are a lot of Muslems and Hindus with there muslem religions.
Peter and I got a lot of experiance working with the Indians and
telling them about the Lord Jesus Christ.
I also went to the
Sociaty Islands with my dad the summer of 1980 after the Internship

thing.

I feel that all these experiances have helped me grow

and work for the goal of reaching the lost.

Right now I am working on the possability of working as an

intern with another missionary overseas. C Y Kim is a missionary

- X'', i to Korea and he has asked for some help an there is a possability
that I might be able to work with him for a year or so.
I am
:/ ,

looking right now for a few churches to support me if the LOrd

wills for me to go. Dad will be going over to Korea next month
and he will find out if i t will be possible.
I would like to get
a year or so of on the field experiance and if not stay on the

field permanently, come back and do some recruiting for that field
or the missionfield in general.
I want
to get .the job done.
We can't just sit
els to do the job for us. We are going
for what we did or didn't do to get the

Ji and

to do what ever is nessasary

here and expect someone
to have to answer to God
gospel out to every tounge

every tribe.
