7 50g balls of Lana Gatto Class shade #5226 Brown.


One pair size US 6 (4mm) needles or size to obtain gauge.
Cable needle.
Size D-3 (3.25mm) crochet hook.
Sewing needle.
6 buttons.

STITCHES
Using needles:
Garter stitch (k1, p1 rib)
Stockinette stitch (k1, p1 rib; k2, p2 rib)
Reverse Stockinette stitch
Tubular stitch (work on odd number of sts)
Row 1: k1, * wyif, slip 1 st purlwise, wyib, k1, rep from * to end.
Row 2: wyif, slip 1 st purlwise, * k1, wyif, slip 1 st purlwise,
wyib, rep from * to end.
Rep these 2 rows.

1x1 Rib (over an odd number of sts)


Row 1: * k1, p1; rep from to last st, k1.
Row 2: k the knit sts, p the purl sts.
Rep row 2 for Garter st.

Slip st Rib (over a multiple of 4 sts plus 1 st)


Row 1: * p2 , k1, p1; rep from * to last st, p1.
Row 2: k1, * k1, 1 slipped st (wyif, slip 1 st purlwise), yarn in
back, k2; rep from * to end.

BACK
Using size US 6 (4mm) needles cast on 117 sts. Work 6 rows in
Tubular st. Cont in Slip st rib until piece measures 7in/18cm from
Tubular edge, ending with a WS row.
Next row (RS dec row): P2 tog, (K1, P3 tog) 28 times, K1, P2
tog. 59 sts remain. Cont in Garter st as established. When piece
measures 10in/26cm from dec row, for armholes bind off 2
sts at beg of next 2 rows and 1 st at beg of next 4 rows. 51 sts
remain. When armhole measures 7in/19cm, bind off all sts.

LEFT FRONT
Using size US 6 (4mm) needles cast on 73 sts. Work 6 rows in
Tubular st. Cont in Slip st rib until piece measures 7in/18cm from
Tubular edge, ending with a WS row.
Next row (RS dec row): P2 tog, (K1, P3 tog) 17 times, K1, P2
tog. 37 sts remain.
Cont in Garter st as established. When piece measures 10in/26cm
from dec row, for armhole bind off 2 sts at beg of next RS row.
Con to dec 1 st at armhole edge every other row twice. Work
even, until armhole measures 4in/26cm from beg. Shape neck.

Next row (WS): bind off 6 sts (neck edge), rib to end of row.
Cont to dec at neck edge every other row 2 sts 4 times and 1 st
3 times. Work even until piece measures same as for Back. Bind
off rem 16 sts for shoulder.

RIGHT FRONT
Work to correspond to Left Front, reversing all shaping.

BACK

SLEEVES
Using size US 6 (4mm) needles cast on 57 sts. Work 6 rows in
Tubular st. Cont in Slip st rib until piece measures 1in/4.5cm
from Tubular edge, ending with a WS row. K 2 rows for turning
ridge. Cont in Slip st, starting with an even row (WS), until piece
measures 2in/6.5cm from turning ridge. Shape cap. Bind off 2
sts at beg of next 2 rows, dec 1 st each side every other row 8
times, every 4th row 3 times, every other row 5 times. Then bind
off 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows. Bind off rem 17 sts.

FINISHING

Sew shouder seams. Using crochet hook work a sc row evenly


along side and armhole edge of Back and Fronts. Sew side
seams. Turn sleeve border and sew sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.

EDGING:
Row 1: using crochet hook, with RS facing join yarn to lower
edge of Right Front with a slip st, 1 cat. (= 1st sc), work 84 sc up
Right Front opening edge, 63 sc around neck edge, 85 sc down
Left Front opening edge. Cut off yarn. Do not turn.
Row 2: with RS facing join yarn to first ch of previous row, 3 ch
(= 1st dc), 1 dc in each of next 28 sc of previous row, work 6
buttonholes along Right Front as follows: (1 ch, miss 1 st, 1 dc
in each of next 10 sc) 6 times, cont working 1 dc in each st of
previous row and 3 dc in corner st at both sides of neck edge.
Do not turn.
Row 3: work in reverse sc. Sew buttons to Left Front opening
edge opposite to buttonholes
