NATIONAL MUSEUM

Last October 7, 2014, I went to National Museum with my girlfriend. It

was such an amazing experience because of the things we saw there. We
went to two of their buildings the National Art Gallery and the Museum of the
Filipino People. We didnt spend money for the entrance fee because it is a
free entrance for the whole month October because they are celebrating the
Museum and Galleries Month. At first I was not really interested in going to
National Museum because I really dont like paintings or arts. My girlfriend is
the one who really wants to go there because he wants to see the
Manunggul Jar and the Spoliarium. We first went to Museum of the Filipino
People. On the first floor, you can only see there souvenir shops there. On
the second floor, it shows about the history of the Philippines. We saw there
the replica of the Manunggul Jar and the big anchor of the ship that was use
for the Galleon trade. It was so amazing to see how big they are and how
beautiful they are. On the third floor we saw the first book that was published
in the Philippines it was the Doctrina Christiana. And we also saw there the
old alphabet of our country which is the alibata. And we also saw there the
the skull that they get from the Tabon Cave. And there was a room in the
third floor that tackles about the different era in the Philippines and how our
ancestors lived. On the fourth floor, it shows about the different clothes that
our ancestors wear and how it is made. And theres all about the different
rice ad pest that we can see in the different places in the Philippines. And
what really amazed us was the part that we saw the animals that can be
seen in our country. It is really a true animal and they just preserve it.
Theres a different butterfly, birds, crabs and a lot more. We were so happy in
what in the Museum of the Filipino People. And it is really a must place to go.
And we will recommend it to our friends and family.
After we went to the Museum of the Filipino People, we went to
National Art Gallery. As we enter on the first room of the museum we saw a
big sculpture of an angel. That room was old Session Hall of the Congress.
And as we enter, we saw two great paintings from two great painters. The
first painting was the Assassination of Gobernador Bustamente by Felix
Resurrecion Hidalgo. It was so beautiful and it was a really a work of art. And
the second painting that really amazed us was the best known painting of
Juan Luna which is the Spoliarium. No words can describe the feelings that
we had when we saw it. Because it was just so beautiful, simple yet really hit
our hearts how he show the sufferings of the Filipino people. And also on that

floor we saw the sculptures of the bust of some well know Filipino People like
Jose Rizal and Manuel Quezon. And we also saw some sculptures of angels
and some Greek sculptures. And theres also a room showing the different
paintings of Juan Luna and Felix Hidalgo. It is a great experience to see the
different paintings and sculptures that was made by some of the well-known
Filipino artist. And because of that it made me more proud for being a Filipino
because our country was rich of talents and treasures that the other country
doesnt have. I hope our government will put more budget in building more
museum in our country to show the talents of the Filipino.
