ACTUARIAL MANAGEMENT
(N/343/7/0109; 01/2019)
After the successful accreditation of its undergraduate Actuarial Science programmes, UCSI University has
launched the MSc in Actuarial Management. This elevates UCSIs oerings in the eld of Actuarial Studies to
the Graduate-Education level (curriculum covers all topics on the rst four CAS/SOA exams and programmes
leads to a masters degree).
As a postgraduate programme, the MSc in Actuarial Management will have more emphasis on the theoretical
fundamentals of the disciples involved. In addition, this Masters programme oers two structures (C & B) to
meet the dierent needs of learners with a rst degree in the quantitative discipline.
Structure C is ideal for professionals such as mathematics teachers, engineers or economists who want a
mid-career switch to the actuarial profession. Structure C will equip them with the essential technical
knowledge to pursue the Society of Actuaries (SoA) exams up to the associate level. In addition, it provides
essential management know-hows for technicists to succeed in ascending the corporate ladder.
Structure B is designed for those who already have a degree in or related to actuarial science and would like
to boost their theoretical foundation and develop skills for research. As actuarial science is an
interdisciplinary programme, an undergraduate degree in this eld may not give due attention to issues on
theoretical depth and this postgraduate programme addresses this. Structure B is ideal for those interested
to venture into academia or a management role that conducts more rigorous investigative tasks.

In todays globalised and fast-paced world, technology is integral in all aspects from business to personal.
Technology, particularly information technology (IT) is undoubtedly central to creating value and for this
reason it continues to warrant a rising share of total investments for many companies. This makes technology
a lucrative eld, particularly for individuals who are entrepreneurs with a core business in technology.
At the forefront of technology and business, the School of IT addresses this need through its MSc in

UCSIs MSc in Technopreneurship is designed to merge the best of entrepreneurship with the skills needed
to harness technology to build internationally-recognised businesses and brands. Through close industry
collaborations and feedback, we understand the importance of hands-on learning and applicable knowledge.
These are achieved through UCSIs Praxis approach that advocates learning beyond the classroom and the
application of theory to practice. A key component in this is UCSIs various Praxis Centres in house
business entities under the UCSI Group that are run by academic sta, adjunct professors or experienced
leaders. These Praxis Centres act as an incubator to guide and nurture aspiring technopreneurs, and
provide a medium for them to establish their business and academic connections, which is undoubtedly vital
especially in the early years of a start-up.
If you are looking to tap into the booming technology industry, this programme will get you one step closer to
emulate the success of technological giants such as Google and JobStreet.
