Instructions to be followed while preparing research report

All pages shall have a page border. The upper right hand side of the page border (header) shall be a
header named Rajagiri College of Management & Applied Sciences in font times new roman, size 10
in italics.
The bottom right hand side of the border (footer) shall show the page number font times new roman,
size 10 in italics.
There shall be a face sheet with part number and chapter heading, before each part and each chapter
and these pages shall not be numbered. These shall be in the center of the page and shall use only the
uppercase for all letters, although the font size may be increased up to 50.
The preferred font is times new roman, sized at 12 point for both headings and text.
The report shall not contain any other font. Although for some tables, font size may be reduced up
to 10 point.
Margins must be at 1inch on all sides, with the left margin being 1.3 inch including on pages with
diagrams and tables.
One half spacing between lines is preferred.
Paragraphs should not be indented. There should be two returns (i.e. one blank line) between paragraphs.
Right margin should be justified.
Every table must have a unique caption centered at the top. eg. Table 1 [caption]
All tables must be numbered in a single sequence from the beginning of the volume through the
appendices.
Every diagram must have a unique caption centered at the bottom. All diagrams must be numbered in a
single sequence from the beginning of the volume through the appendices. eg . Diagram 1 . Graph.
[caption] or diagram 2. Chart. [caption]
While using bullets, use the standard (microsoft word) round bullets.
Do not use abbreviations.
Run spell check to ensure that spelling and grammatical errors are avoided. Language followed is
English (u.k).

which you read as part of your research, but which were not actually used.
References lists specific works that you used in your work.

Follow the punctuation details carefully, as these sometimes change according to type
of source
The name of the work is usually written in italic font or underlined if hand written.
Sources are arranged in alphabetical order, regardless of the type of source, which
they are.
While writing names of authors, use their second names first; and in the case of
initials, use them after the name.
Details about author/s name, year of publication, publisher etc, may usually be found
on the inside front cover of any book which you use.
Here are some of the abbreviations used in referencing.
